OUIDAD Advanced Climate Control Heat & Humidity Stronger Hold Gel

This hair gel from Ouidad has been a game changer for my hair. I decided to embrace my natural curls about a year ago and I have gone through a huge amount of haircare products trying to find the ones that work right for me. A lot of the products that I found work perfectly for my hair are made by Ouidad. If you're looking for a brand that really understands curly hair then Ouidad is the brand for you. This hair gel is the first one that has checked all the boxes for me. It delivers on the promise of protecting your hair from humidity. I live in Florida and the humidity used to be a hairstyle destroyer for me until I found this gel and the shampoo from the same line. My hair doesn't frizz up everytime I walk outside anymore. This product has excellent hold without leaving my hair super stiff and crunchy. It leaves my hair defined and my curls bouncy. My hair looks healthy and shiny when I use this product. I don't know if this product is scented but I don't detect any fragrance when I use it which I prefer. I wash my hair every three days so it's important to me that hair products don't leave my hair feeling gross and in need of a wash after one day. With this gel I'm able to go three days in between washes and my hair never feels dirty. My curls also hold up really well for those three days. I just use a small amount of curl refresher spray on days two and three and my hair looks as good as it did on day one. I always order the largest size of this product and I feel like it's a really good value for the price. The large bottle is fairly priced and it lasts me months. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a gel that protects against humidity, has excellent hold and that keeps your curls looking awesome until your next wash day!

A go to product for my curly hair. I have 3c curls and I like to use this product in conduction with a sea salt spray or a hair spray as it provides the texture my hair needs. This product provides wonderful slip for my curls and moistures them and controls frizz. If I use to much to get the gel cast, my curls can be limper so I do need to use a curl cream and other products I mentioned above and just had to figure out what worked for my hair. If I apply too much my hair is very moisturized and will tend to fall out quicker. I love that it has heat protection. I also only wash my hair weekly and I find I rarely need to refresh my curls!! But I think I am either lucky or figured out a system that works best for my hair. I leave the crunch in overnight (wash hair and dry in the evening). Wear a silk bonnet to bed and in the morning my curls with a little scrunch and fluff are just glorious! Day two hair is even more fabulous. After that it sort of maintains but does depend on what I do. I might need a little refresh in the front. A quality product that lasts for a real long time. It is definitely a keeper!

This will always be the best gel for curly hair in my opinion. It gives your curls a nice shine, bounce and cast. The ingredients are just right. Even tho I have low porosity curly hair that is sensitive to protein, this somehow still works really well with my hair. It only has one protein ingredient. The scent is pretty neutral. It leaves my curls very bouncy and I think this is worth the money.

The first picture is my hair right out of the shower with the product in. The second picture is after it’s fully dried. I have tried a lot of curly hair care and this is one I reach for the most! I have thick, loose curls on top and tighter curls underneath for reference. My hair is also very soft, but tends to be frizzy. I like this one a lot because I can run it through my hair and a let it airy dry and it’ll look great! I do have to coat each of my curls individually or else I’ll get a very dry & frizzy section. It also works best if you use this on very wet hair. Like still dripping from the shower. The product itself is sort of a looser gel and slightly sticky in texture. It doesn’t have much of a scent, which is nice! It does lock in moisture and it’s not very heavy on my hair, which I LOVE. I can hardly tell I have product in when I use this. I only took away one star because I do have to use a lot of this stuff to get the results I want. However, I have had it for about a year and I haven’t run out yet, so that makes it worth repurchasing for me. It’s a great value for your money! I will say too, the results are the same whether I air dry my hair or defuse it.

I have been using this gel for several years. I was having a hard time finding it in the stores that carry it and by chance I found it on amazon. I have extremely curly hair that is long. No other products control my curls and always leave frizz in some parts of my hair. First I wet my hair or wash it. Then I apply the leave in conditioner from the same company and then apply a generous amount of the gel on each section of my hair and then comb it through to get rid of tangles. I then blot dry my hair. I don’t have to worry about my hair getting frizzy during any part of the day even when it’s raining or humid outside. It smells very good. I’ve had so many compliments on my curls and the smell of my hair which a lot of people say it smells like coconut. I usually buy 2 large bottles because I use it on my daughters curly hair too. It is a little expensive but because it’s such a big bottle but it lasts for months. It doesn’t dry out your hair. I love it! Highly recommend!

This is one of my top2 gels. I love its strength and that it is so easy to scrunch out its cast. When I use this gel (and sleep in my silk bonnet) I get 3 good days from my hair with minimal frizz before I have to restyle. This gel is a nonnegotiable for me -- must have.
