Q: Instructions say check the seal between the stove and gas container is in place, fig 4. What does the seal look like?

What we do is, the gas container has a split in the metal on top of the rim, when we place the container in the stove, it will only fall in, if we line up the slit, when you push the container in. It won't fit any other way. Once you feel the container fit, just press the lever to lock and it should be ok.

Q: Anyone cooked steaks on it?

Ive used it for all kinds of cooking .. frying, boiling, even steaming. Enjoy your steak x

Q: How long does a gas canaster last. To boil a kettle? ?

If you are just using it to boil the kettle, 1 canister will last a good few days. I use 1 every 2 to 3 days boiling a kettle making a cooked breakfast for 4/5 people, making a big pot of chilli or stew.

Q: Is this stove safe to be used indoors ie. when there is a power cut

I bought this stove with the express purpose of using it during power cuts. Since purchasing I have had to use it twice. It tells you that it is NOT safe to use indoors. Better to use it outside under cover with plenty of ventilation, not a howling gale.
