PURESOUND Custom Pro Brass Snare Wire 20 Strand, 13 Inch - CPB1320

Recently bought a new GRETSCH Catalina Club set, drums sound amazing but the snare was a little lacking. Installed a new PureSound Custom Pro 13” 20 strands snare and the drum was instantly transformed. The snare buzz was so clean and crisp, actually surprised at the difference it made. Definitely like the snare straps and pin system, install was a breeze, just make sure you put the pins in the correct slot, which is the small one between the white stitching. See photos.

Good sound overall, and the mounting system works quite nicely in my opinion. I do find however that these have a tendency to rattle a little more than any other wires I've tried on my drum - each hit is followed by some buzz. No amount of tuning and adjustment stopped it. I found that a tad unpleasant and ended up going in another direction. I don't know if it's the model, or I just got a set that has this tendency.

Great snare wires! I have them on the 13X7 maple ocdp snare. Sound great, crisp and bright. They have great response as do all Puresound snare wires. I did not buy them for the easy switch option that they advertise, so I can't comment so much on that feature. BUT again, as with all Puresound wires, you can't go wrong here. Thumbs up 👍🏻

I changed the stock ones that came with my snare and the sound difference is instatly noticeable. My drum set sounds a lot more professional now.

The sympathetic snare buzz is almost close to none but maintaining very high sensitivity of response in every hit! Easy to remove when i need to change or retune reso head

Puresound are the best sounding snare wires I have had but this set in particular came deffective. After a couple of months using it, the clips that hold the snare wires passed trough the little holes in the wires when playing the drum and do not stay in their place, I had to buy regular snare straps to attach the snare wires to the drum.Needed to say that this is the third set of snare wires from this brand I have and this ones are the only ones with that problem.

The PureSound system is sweet! Snare types switch out in a few minutes without tools- and the snare wires are the best I have played in the 50-some year career- what's not to like? Try'em- you'll like'em!
