Baxter of California Men's After Shave Balm for Men | Cooling Sensation | 4 fl. Oz (Pack of 1)

I had been 'hunting' for a new product to apply to my face after shaving. I had gone through quite a number of them until finding Baxter of California After Shave Balm--I've been using it for almost a year now. To be honest, when it first arrived I wasn't so thrilled with the fragrance... it reminded me of the barber shop when I was a boy (decades ago!). Interestingly, now I have come to enjoy the scent, rather fresh when you apply it... and it doesn't linger too long. The balm is very soothing to the skin, and moisturizes without any trace of greasiness. If you have very dry skin, you may need to apply a moisturizer in addition to this product. I like that it doesn't make your face shiny, more of a matte finish on your skin--clean, fresh, and comforting--it never stings or irritates. This is really excellent stuff! A small dab goes a long way...one tube lasts me almost 6 months. Definitely worth a try if you are looking for a quality after-shave balm that won't break the bank.

Great product. Used to have issues with razor burn and breaking out everything I shaved. This product stopped that. Well worth the price.

I like the Baxter of California shave balm. It flows and spreads nicely. Calms any shave irritartion. Mild pleasant scent formulated in the balm. Nice product. Good value, too

Great stuff. I've tried quite a number of balms and aftershave splashes. This is a really nice balm. A thick, translucent liquid that has a light lemon & menthol fragrance that fades quickly. It cools and soothes w/o any alcohol burn. It is NOT sticky or greasy---lightly moisturizes and tones shaved skin very nicely. I've never had this balm sting my skin at all...even after a rough shave. To me it seems a very good burn-fighter. I agree that a small amount goes a long way. I almost always use too much...a pea-sized dollop is too much and goes to waste. Half that amount is very adequate for an after shaving pat-down. Baxter's has the positive attributes of both aftershave balm (soothing, moisturizing) and of an aftershave splash (cooling, clean, non-sticky/greasy). Highly recommended.

Look, this product is not cheap, its downright expensive. But Amazon says I've purchased this 12 times, roughly once every 3 months, it's amazing, smells great (less so after the reformulations) it's light and hydrates without feeling overly oily or sticky or anything. But for some reason when I went to reorder it said it was discontinued so I tried a different product that's less than a quarter of the price and it works great. Turns out you don't need to spend a fortune on this, cheaper stuff works just as great.

I originally tried Baxter of California After Shave Balm as part of a starter kit that contained a Baxter of California shaving brush, shaving cream, and this balm. The balm has a pleasant citrus scent to it, but it fades quickly and will not interfere with the scent of any other aftershave or cologne you might want to use afterward. I really like how my face feels after using it. I usually rub some alum on my face after shaving and rinse it off right before I apply the balm. Just a small dab of the balm is needed, and I find one tube has lasted several months with daily usage with about 1/3 of the tube still remaining. My face always feels really good afterwards, and I have experienced less shaving irritation with the balm. After using it for a few weeks I have found my complexion has improved, too. Baxter of California After Shave Balm is expensive, but if you want a product that will make your face feel and look good after shaving it is worth its added cost.

I have fairly sensitive skin and need a good alcohol free after shave to avoid alot of irritation. I have used several types in the past and this has been the best. It goes on nice and smooth and does not dry out my face. Nothing worse than have that tight and dry skin feeling after shaving. This keeps my face moisturized for quite some time after shaving. Has a pleasant, manly smell too. I will continue to buy this. Update- I have used this after shave for over a month and I am not really as impressed as I once was. It is not nearly as moisturizing as Proraso after shave, yet it is 3x the price. I will not buy this again because of the price.

Well, I purchased this years ago at a store for my husband. I recently had a painful rash/ razor burn on my underarm. So I raided my husband’s shaving drawer, settled on this after shave product that’s been in there for years now. It soothed the stinging right away, also noticing a very light and pleasant “fresh shave from the barber” smell. My razor burn was healed the next day!!! I used a few times more, applying to my under arms and once to my freshly shaven gams. Shocked later in the day, just how oh-so soft and smooth my legs were. Impressed. I found it’s available on Amazon. Kinda steep price, but I was read somewhere this product also doubles as a make-up primer??? Okay, so I bought a tube for myself. It arrived prompty, in slightly different and updated packaging. ( I did have to experiment as a primer under my make-up… worked good and didn’t make me breakout. So I suppose I could use it as a primer when I’m low on my go-to product) I love it for all the other uses, applied on hot summer days as a refresh body cream after the shower, AND when my sunburned feet were driving me up the wall when I was trying to sleep! You get the point here: great product, very useful multi-tasker! Definitely spot-on as an after-shave.

È un buon gel post rasatura e calma veramente le irritazioni, bel profumo, ma lascia la pelle un po' appiccicosa.

Ab jetzt kann ich mich endlich wieder mit Ziegelsteinen rasieren. Ein wenig hiervon danach und die Haut beruhigt sich und man riecht noch gut. Der Preis ist relativ hoch aber man braucht nicht viel. Es ist recht ergiebig.

I like the smell and the way this after shave lotion spreads. I have sensitive skin around my neck and this product stops it in ita tracks. I'll definitely purchase this product in the future.

Really nice. Has a nice smell and really soothes skin. It is thick and you only need to use a very small amount but once applied it soaks in to skin nicely. I’ve used lots of different after shav creams and gels in the past and think this is the best one I’ve used
