Wire-free mowing — even at the far end of the garden
Upgraded from a wired mower, and this has been a genuine step up in convenience. No boundary wires, reliable app control even at long range, and consistent cut quality. It handles my 770 m² lawn well, especially when split into zones — which also makes mowing more practical when rain is forecast. ⸻ Setup & Mapping Avoiding boundary wire installation was the main reason I upgraded, and this mower has lived up to that promise. • Tip: Start with a temporary layout for the charging station and satellite receiver. Move them until you get the best signal coverage, then finalise. • Mapping the lawn through the app is straightforward and well guided. It took me two tries to get a perfect outline, but once set, the mower follows it reliably. ⸻ Performance in the Garden My lawn is around 770 m², close to the rated maximum. In full automatic mode, a complete mow takes about 11 hours and three partial charges (15% → 80%). Splitting the lawn into smaller zones noticeably improves efficiency between charges. It’s also ideal when rain is forecast, letting you complete the garden in manageable sections rather than risking an unfinished full mow. Battery capacity is strong: a 200 m² zone per charge is achievable. The cut pattern is consistent, the finish tidy, and the mower reliably returns to base for charging. • App control: Works perfectly, even at the far end of the garden — no connection issues. • Edge cutting trick: Run the boundary close to a firm edge (like paving stones) for a tighter, cleaner cut along borders. ⸻ Build & Design The mower feels robust, the docking station is weather-ready, and the overall design shows thoughtful engineering. The app is responsive and stable, and firmware updates have installed smoothly, adding confidence for long-term support. ⸻ Pros & Cons Pros • Wire-free boundary setup saves hours of work • Reliable app control and mapping • Handles large lawns with zone splitting • Consistent cut quality • Solid battery performance Cons – Full automatic mow on max lawn size still takes most of a day – Mapping requires a little trial and error – Edging depends on careful boundary placement ⸻ Verdict A strong choice for anyone wanting a capable, wire-free robotic mower that can manage a large garden with minimal fuss. With a bit of setup tweaking, it delivers excellent results and removes the hassle of boundary wires entirely. ⸻ Update Log • [3 months in]: Still cutting reliably; no issues with app range or mapping drift. Battery performance consistent.

Poor Support – Missing UK Plug and Unprofessional Response
The mower arrived with a EU plug and no UK 3-pin plug, making it unsafe and unusable out of the box in the UK. I contacted Ecovacs through their app but received no reply. It took a week to get a response via email, and even then, they did not accept responsibility or offer any apology—just sent me a link to purchase the correct plug separately. I spent around two hours installing the mower: locating best position, and bolting the RTK unit to a pergola, screwing down the charger on the patio, and running the cables neatly with clips—all assuming Ecovacs would rectify the plug issue. I even considered "biting the bullet" and paying £30 for the correct plug. But their dismissive attitude, even after I raised my consumer rights, gave me serious doubts about trusting them if something went wrong during the 3-year warranty. Their final email simply stated they were closing the case because I was returning the product—no apology, no accountability. A shame, as the mower looked promising, but Ecovacs' unprofessional support has completely put me off.

Almost perfect robot
These are getting better, this would work for 90% of uk gardens, the goat is a determined robot. I have tried two before this costing more money and this wins hands down. where other robots tipped or went on uneven ground they would stop, this stopped bleeped and took another route. Don’t get me wrong this would tip up. See videos of my lawn if very steep and uneven but managed it. Negatives 1. Did not ship with uk plug, so could not waterproof and adaptor and plug in a weather box. 2. it wanted to auto join areas together. These areas I had mapped avoiding areas but then joined together to waste the effort. Instead it wanted you to route areas to exclude, but these areas are tricky to route around, if you get one error you have to start again, normally tricky areas are prone to error. 3. I build a bridge to join to lawns over a stream twice as wide as robot, but each time it did a pirouette on the middle of the bridge so could not trust it. It made it across 1 out of 3 times. Advantages 1. Determined; it would try different angles if struggled 2. Cutting stripes could be chosen 3. Speed could be set 4. Mapping was easy, but needs app to be better to support drawing areas/ excluding areas

Upgraded from a Flymo EasiGo 500 - Impressed
I don't normally bother leaving a review on anything i get from Amazon (its just a shop !), but there weren't too many to help me decide when i was looking for a replacement for my old one. I've been using a cheaper robot mower for the last 4 years, so i was already 'sold' on the idea of a 'cute' little robot helper running around the back garden. The old one was had started having issues with the boundary wire, which was really the only issue i ever had with the old one, so this year, i got it out of winter storage, plugged everything back in, then was pleased that the 'loop' was fine (the first time that's happened !). It ran for 2 weeks, then failed, so i was looking at replacement parts, but they were going to cost over half the price of a new replacement, so i started looking at what Amazon had to offer. The old one was £150 more than i paid for it 4 years ago, but for a little more, this one was available which was claiming that it didn't need a boundary wire ! Wonderful. I've had this for two days now. The setup was pretty straightforward, get the base station out of the box and put it somewhere with a bit of space either side (and within range of power and wifi), then power the robot on, create a security pin, then download a firmware update. The update took about 10 to 15 mins, then it was 'mapping time'. The auto-mapping function is very good, it found 90% of the boundary by its self (just needed to help it manually a few times at the more difficult bits), then it went for a quick run around the garden to map the bit it'll cut, to check for any obstacles, then it went home, and it was done. I don't have a particularly large garden, and it's basically a rectangle, so the whole set up was about 45 mins. It did the first scheduled cut yesterday morning, and it's fantastic. It cuts in straight lines, and it's quick! My whole garden was done in about 3 hours, and considering the old robot failed 3 weeks ago, the grass was fairly long. Over all, i'm really impressed. It's definitely an upgrade over the old, random robot i was using before, and it does a much MUCH better job.

Worked well for 7 days and then stopped charging
What a shame. The initial experience was really good. Product seemed well made and was well packaged. Setup was straightforward. We have a small, relatively simple lawn and the automapping functionality was good, with one or two small sections where I needed to take over and do a bit of manual steering before allowing it to continue in auto-mode. The mower then mowed a number of times during the week, and did a great job. It didn't get stuck or head off into the flowerbeds once and we were pretty impressed. Then we were woken up in the middle of the night by it beeping away in its garage. Couldn't stop it that night (after undocking/redocking etc.). Factory reset didn't fix it the following day either. From what I could see it seemed to be connecting/disconnecting to the charging station continuously (for no reason we could figure out). I spoke to Ecovacs UK customer support who just said 'return it via Amazon' - no attempt to diagnose and fix the problem, no mention of an exchange. All a bit disappointing from a customer service point of view I'm afraid. The mower has now been returned for a refund. Whilst I was impressed with the camera only approach (no wire, no RTk antenna) hence the three stars, I'm not sure I'd recommend this device given it developed a fault within 7 days and the manufacturer didn't make too much effort to keep me as a customer.

Excellent, very happy
I am extremely happy with this. I have had two Robot lawn mowers previously and they were never quite right. This one does everything I hoped for, plus a little more. It will hibernate away from the lawn on a patio, works very well simply using cameras, stripes the lawn with options, you can use it as a remote control camera. In terms of value for money it offers more for less than its competitors. The app is simple. I have only one minor gripe which is that it makes a whirring noise. Which sounds like it comes from the wheel drive. (not the spinning blades.). My two previous models were silent. But to be honest, very minor.

Robot mower
The mower is great and works as directed. The app has lots of different features with sequencing and time setting. My lawn has been kept tidy since the 3 months it’s been live. However you still need to nurture and promote growth feed scarify etc. mine goes in a shed to keep dry and I’ll be closing the entrance and removing the power for winter. I’ve had no problems with connecting errors or being stuck. Set up was easy just require a European plug converter.

Waste of money, do not buy until company make drastic improvements
I really did my research and thought this was a good investment. I was wrong to be honest. I should have paid more for the mammotion. The mapping is terrible. You CANNOT edit the map at all. Only no go areas. My issue is we scan the lawn and then a 1 meter edge of the left side of the lawn just disappears. I had to move the base to fix this. The cats sit on top of the machine and the emergency stop button presses and it won’t do anything until I go outside and manually reset. There should be a remote e stop release. The stripes are inconsistent. Even on edge mode it leaves at the very least 20cm around the edge of my garden. The base needs moving again as it cannot be in a corner of a garden (I am aware of that but last time it was not and it missed that 1 meter patch) , it must be in the middle. It gets stuck all the time. The wheels get caked in mud and they’re difficult to clean. It chews my lawn up with its totally nonsensical twisting and turning. And this tiny lawn uses 75 percent of the battery. It’s a joke to be fair. Get the mammotion
