Nylabone Dura Chew Medium Textured Tug Dog Chew Toy (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

I think this dog toy is great because it is heavy and sturdy, but it's a little too heavy and large for my small breed dog to enjoy. He is a very heavy chewer and can go through a large nylabone in one day, so I figured I would try this one out.I thought he would like the larger size since he loves the larger classic nylabones, but it is harder for him to grasp this type with his paws and chew. I think the weight and heft of the toy turns him off too. He likes the large durachew bones better because he can get a handle on them.I would definitely recommend this to a large breed dog who is a very strong chewer. It will probably last much longer than a regular nylabone or even a durachew bone. I will have to give this one to my brother's larger dogs, and I know they'll give it a high-paw five.

We have two, one year old retrievers (a Chesapeake and Golden). They both LOVE to chew.The Nylabone products seem to satisfy their urge to chew, but they are certainly not "chew proof". We bought the Textured Tug Chew Toy along with four other Nylabone designs, as well. They've had them for just over one month, and there are significant portions of all the toys missing.The message is, powerful chewers will still have their way with these toys, it just takes a little longer. When these are "gone", we will likely replace them with more Nylabone chews, as they do last longer than the other toys we've purchased. It would be nice to have a toy that was truly chew proof, but I guess it would have to be structural steel, or something similar!

Great chew for heavy chewers - HOWEVER, be mindful how warn it will get. If your dog has a narrow jaw, it is possible for the jaw to get caught inside the circular portion of this bone. Our mini-Aussie somehow got his lower jaw through the center and it got stuck behind his k-9 teeth. Being that the bone was very well chewed, it was very rough and scratched his gums up a bit while trying to get it off his jaw. I let him chew on this thing much longer than I should have. Lesson learned on my part.

I have two black lab mixes. We had been giving them rawhides for their chewing pleasures. Well our newest lab chews ALOT. We were giving him way too much rawhide to keep him from chewing furniture etc. So I was in Petsmart and saw a Heavy chewers section. I bought one there to try it out and boy am I glad I did. So for Christmas time I ordered a selection from Amazon and they have been a HUGE hit. He loves chewing on them and they are holding up well. He really loves playing tug with this one. Or even throwing it around for himself to fetch since it's lighter than some of the others I bought him. It's still very strong. I also don't have to worry about the amount of rawhide he's getting! Makes for happy pups and happy parents!

This isn’t my dogs favorite chew toy, but she will work on it every few days. Occasionally the dog goes through spurts of aggressive chewing and has worked on the toy during one of those times.We have had the bone for a couple of months and so far it has held up well leading me to believe that it is a decently constructed toy.

My black lab is a very powerful chewer. I've boughten so many different toys for her, and Nylabones seem to be the only toys that actually last a while. Any other toys and she bites pieces off within two minutes.She really loves this Nylabone! She's had it for about two months now and it's starting to get pretty gross due to her bite marks and the fur and everything on the bone, so I think I'm going to buy a replacement one now. But it's very impressive for a dog toy to last for two months with my crazy chewer, so I think we were both very happy with this particular bone!

It is exactly what I was expecting, I just cannot get my dog interested in it. I was hoping to replace his nylabone toy that looks like a bone and has the light green soft wrapping in the middle. That toy tears up his gums when he chews on it and I was hoping that I could eventually move that toy out of his toy-box and replace it with this. It does not appear that is going to happen.

My dog is a toy destroyer, so this was a great find for her. She loves to chew, and chew on this for a long time. It keeps her occupied and satisfies her need for chewing. They last a long time (she is a small to medium size dog) for her.

My huge St. Bernard mix enjoyed chewing this once in a while, but received no real enjoyment from it. In a strange incident (maybe a fluke), my springer spaniel decided to chew it one day and got her face stuck in it. Her jaw is the perfect size to slip into the circular portion and not come out again. It was a 300$ emergency trip to the vet to put her under and have it removed. The toy was thrown out immediately.

Very happy to get yet another Nylabone with the right sizing at a very low price.This is truly the LARGE size and its form makes my dog enjoy it even more.So far everything is good, no big pieces got off the nylabone and I would say this one is giving my GSD a tough time to chew through which is perfect!Always supervise your dog when they play and chew raw hides and nylabones.

The Toy is of very hard chew, with a Giant Schnauzer. It lasted him about 3 weeks before I had to throw it out, as it was to small an she may have chocked on it. One of the better toys that I've bought for her, as she goes thru toys quickly. Still in search of a toy that she may not be able to destroy so quickly... I would recommend this for any dog, that loves to chew her or his toys.

Not as big as I thought it would be, looks tiny for my runty golden retriever.HOWEVER, my dog LOVES this thing! He has chewed it to the semblance of a medieval torture device. And it has lasted a few months (he tears through a Kong Wubba in a few hours).Hey, whatever floats his boat right?

I actually bought a second one, my 90lb labs seem to always fight over this toy so a 2nd was purchase. Handles heavy chewers extremely well. Shipped in a reasonable time. No concerns with seller will end up purchasing again im sure of it. Compairable to the prices in the stores.
