Pleatco PA100S-EC Pool Filter Cartridge Replacement for Unicel: C-9440, OEM Part Numbers: CX100XRE, White

I had a Pleatco PA100S and it worked well, flowed much better that the OEM Hayward filter. Although I noticed that the filter pleats were not evenly spaced around the filter. That new PA100S-EC has pleats that are perfectly spaced. I don't know what "EC" refers to but I am very happy with the filter as it flows really well and consequently having less restriction the water inlets flow much better. On top of this the pool stays really clean as I don't feel like the increased flow is at the expense of filtering capability. I think it's about the design of the filter and the material. You won't be disappointed.

Very disappointed. As a former pool service professional, I am used to these filters lasting 1.5-2 years. My chemistry on the pool was nearly perfect. This filter was used only 9 months, at $115, and is now useless. After cleaning, the filter is at high pressure in less than 2 days. This is a much lower quality than the previous versions of this filter (thanks Zodiac for screwing this product up). I have used this brand for years, and will never buy this again. Not worth the higher price, but in the past it was.

Bought the filter in April of this year. Pulled filter twice after running pool 4 weeks to clean it. After cleaning it it’s the bristle cleaning wand and using a filter cleaner the flow rate is great for a day then it dies out pretty quick to about 50% flow. Is anyone else having this problem? The rating is a 3 because the first month the filter did awesome! Not sure what to use to clean it to make it work better and longer or what the warranty is on a replacement.
