Dr. Martens Unisex-Adult Embury Leather Chelsea Boot, 0

I received these boots in perfect order and am very pleased with them, so this review is about sizing. I was a little surprised as the boots have a fairly big fit, they are very roomy for the stated size and perhaps for some may look little too big on the feet. So, as I live in London, I went to the DM store and asked if there was only one width / fitting for any DM boot. The woman in the store told me that there are NO width variations available in DM's, so you can ignore the sometimes quoted 'F' width as all DM's come in one width only. HOWEVER, very unusually for Dr Martens (and very annoyingly) this boot has two different 'fits' for the same 2976 product number. They are both the same width--they are built on the same sole, but one has slimmer more fitted cut in regards to the leather uppers. The boot above is the fuller cut. The only way to be sure is to look a the extended product code: you can find the number in item description above, here quoted as 11853600. The slimmer fit will end in 601, and you can see the difference if you go to that actual DM website, although there is no mention of the fitting difference on either Amazon or even the DM website! This should really be sorted out as they are quite different fits. For me these bigger ones are great work boots as I use them with two pairs of socks. They are plenty warm and work very well for job sites. I have now ordered a slimmer version for daily use as the fit is a little less chunky. I should say that the slimmer ones are still plenty comfortable and fit my normal shoe size, they just look and feel different. Horses for courses, hopefully that will clear a few things up for anyone else thinking of ordering a pair.

I've been an avid buyer of Docs for years as I love how hard wearing and good quality they are, as well as stylish. This time is no different! The leather feels smoother, almost suede-like to touch (not the way it looks) than my own traditional lace up docs - these were bought as a gift for my boyfriend - but just as sturdy and well made. The soles allow good grip on any surface and look as though they'll last for years. These are less clunky than cheaper boots of the same style that we'd previously bought, and my partner tells me they don't wobble around on his feet like the others. They are harder to remove but it's worth it to keep them on all day! He is a size 7 in normal shoes but always buys 8 in boots, and says the 8's fit perfectly. I recommend buying the Dr Marten's 'Wonder Balsam' which gives these boots an extra smooth look and helps to break them in!

I also have Doc Marten shoes. I have always been impressed by this enduring classic boot however. It is a further example of how the original designers of this footwear got things right. Although the price is a little higher than the 20.00 per pair I used to pay in the 80's, they are still well worth the money. Buy quality for your your feet. You also save time in the morning with these as each boot can be pulled on in less than 5 seconds.

Tight fit but ok once used for a few weeks

It's my first time wearing Chelsea boots and first Dr Martens. It took a couple of weeks to break in but are very very comfortable once they do. Love it with casual outfits, especially with a pair of jeans. I was afraid they might look too big for my UK12 size but I have grown to love the look. Would recommend it and would advise being patient during the break-in period.

These are so lovely and quality amazing, I ordered a size bigger but wasn’t able to put half my foot in sadly had to return.you need to have a verrry slim foot

I've had 3 pairs of these boots over the last 3-4 years, good quality well made boots but the sizes are all over the place! One pair when held sole to sole with an old pair was half an inch narrower. Won't buy any more online - need to try them on first.

I was a bit nervous, as I was worried that they would be Made in China and not the traditional Made in Britain versions, aka less good, but I was super happy with these boots. They pull on pretty easily and fit as expected, they feel comfortable straight away aside from a little rubbing at the back (but what would you expect from DMs?!). They were delivered quickly, and they look great and fit snugly but not too tight and hard to get on and off. They are not too clunky either which is great because (as a girl with size 8 feet) I was worried they might be too masculine, but as I said they look great and actually make my feet look smaller than my previous pair of DM Floras did. They are also more comfy than the Floras so overall I'm happy with my choice and would defo recommend!

What can I say about Doc Martens if you don't own a pair get one I've got three pairs of these in different colors and they all rock I even play my drums in them which is something that's hard to do wearing boots

Love them. The quad sole is more comfortable and seemingly more cushioned as a footbed than the Bex sole or the original. These quad soles add a bit more attitude to your look. I love them. You will need a shoehorn to get them on, even after you've broken them in, and it took a couple of wearings to break them in which is minimal and unusual for a pair of Docs; they usually take longer. The back of the boot was chafing against the back of my heel but my shoe cobbler expert loosened it up with a few taps of a specialized shoe hammer. No issues now. I am usually a size 8 1/2 Wide U.S. but since Docs only come in whole sizes, I opted for a 42 EU which equates to a size 9 U.S. Best pair of Docs I've ever owned. No love-hate relationship with this pair. The platform quad sole makes a considerable difference in comfort and style, I think.

Legit Dr Martens ! Style is trendy with a nice shine. The boots are pretty stiff but should get softer after breaking in. Hard to get on but plenty of room once you do. Will go with so many different styles from casual to dress
