SUNLITE Road Raised Center CST638 Tire, 27" x 1.25"

Good basic street tire for older road bikes. Can't argue with the price. I put these on a 1984 Schwinn Le Tour Luxe. Perfect fit, easy mounting. The rubber is uniform, fresh and sticky. I didn't find any QC issues upon inspection. The blackwall tire looks much better than the ancient gumwall tires. Cornering is good even in wet conditions. Speed is pretty good with the raised strip. These are manufactured by Cheng Shin Tire in China. These do smell strongly of rubber for a couple of weeks but what do you expect? It's a tire.Would buy again. At this price, I can swap tires as often as I want to.

Installed this tire on my 27x1.25 front wheel rim and placed the wheel on the front fork of my Gilmour road bike. Was dismayed to find that the height of the tread is too high to clear the lower part of the sidepull brake arms. I then tried the same wheel on the front fork of my Trek Pro Series 560 road bike and had the same problem. Returned both tires. Be careful when you order this tire that it will clear your brake arms.

I've tried several of the inexpensive tires you can find for vintage 27" road bikes and these are by far the best. If you don't want to spend tons of money on gatorskins (which are the best) these are a great alternative and are surprisingly almost as smooth and fast. I've been hitting the streets on NYC hard for the past month on them and they've been awesome.

Great tire at a very nice price. Mounted without a hitch and rolls smooth and fast. Have only a coule hundred miles on so I can't report on durability but no problems so far. Has 90psi rating on sidewall---

This is the 3rd tire that has failed on me, the issue is the construction of the inner wall separates and causes a bump which will eventually blow out. The tires also have very gummy and soft side walls that are not uniform in thickness causing the tire to look wobbly when aired up to 90 psi

I haven't ridden it long yet so I can't comment on durability on the long haul, but it appears to be high quality rubber, strong bead for mounting on rim. Looks nice and matches the original tires on my 73 schwinn. Smells like rubber at first, but its a tire so I would expect that.

These tires stay on the rims of my 1976 Schwinn LeTour very well as compared to some other tires I got on Amazon that moved enough for the tube to slip out and explode. No problems so far. The bike looks a little more modern with the solid black versus tan sidewall of the OEM tire and that poorly fitting tire mentioned above.

Great tires for the price! Look great on my 82 Schwinn World Sport! Ride great.Have 500 miles wearing very very good!
