Poor quality, non-functional and smelly
I will preface my review of this Kindle cover by saying that I have had three kindles and two tablets and I have had more than one cover for each of them. So I know how they should look, feel and function. When I took this cover out of its packaging I immediately noticed two things. One, there was a strong unpleasant odor. I cannot describe it exactly except to say it was sickeningly sweet. It immediately turned my stomach. The other thing I noticed right away is that this cover is of very poor quality as compared to all of my other Kindle and tablet covers. I have purchased various brands in the past, Fintie, Moko, etc. All of these other brands have covers that are pleasingly soft and thick. But this Kindle cover that I am reviewing is very thin and feels as hard as a piece of wood. Then, as I set about putting the cover on my Kindle, it was very tight. And the flap that holds the Kindle in place was difficult to put around it because it is very stiff. And, it also doesn’t have any Velcro to hold the Kindle in place, as all the other brands have.Lastly, just as so many other people have mentioned, as soon as you fold the cover back into its normal reading position, the magnet turns the Kindle off. And it won’t turn back on. I wondered about this because I’ve never run into this before. So I put this Kindle cover next to one of my other ones and immediately saw that the covering is only about half as thick. I took pictures because I think that the reason the magnet turns the Kindle off is that the normal magnet used for these covers is too strong for this brand’s extremely thin cover. The magnet has to pull through only about half as much material. I hope that people can see in my pictures that the thickness of the covering is only about half of what the covering is on one of my better quality Kindle covers.Because of the low quality, the bad smell, and the malfunctioning of this cover, I am sending it back to Amazon immediately. (Too bad because I do like the artwork.)
