Great Product!
I'm really enjoying it! I'm a stylish older man living in LA with medium fine hair. I use about the size of the top of my little finger and my hair looks great all day...then before going out for dinner I re-blow dry the top of my hair and add more clay to hold my hair in place! My hair looks natural and GREAT! also the condition of my hair is better since I've started using it, other clays have dried my hair.

Clean and workable
Have been using for a few years now. One tin lasts me maybe 4 months. Goes on with a clean, unnoticeable look for my blond hair.

Sensitive scalp? I've tried many... This is the only and BEST
I have terribly sensitive skin including my scalp. This includes ezcema.I often get compliments on my thick wavy/curly hair. Some days however, my hair is less flattering. Adding product makes it consistently look great.I'm not a fan of gel so I've opted to try hair clay (as the slick, glossy look of pomade does not appeal to me)I've tried nearly a dozen brands by now... One particular brand had the worst and strongest scent that I actually received multiple complaints in a single day (never experienced that before about anything). But most irritated my scalp; one even flared up my eczema on my face (yes, my face broke out, it was REALLY bad). After awhile, I gave up. But after I healed up and some time had passed, I began looking again for a quality product that was gentle on skin.Seven Potions IS that product! NO irritation on my scalp AT ALL. It is definitely a clay and will not have that slick, glossy pomade look (which some "clays" that I've tried had which is misleadingly and not my preference). It is indeed matte but without being super matte like other brands which made my hair look dry & lifeless. Fortunately, it is just the right amount of matte; a natural look.Seven Potions applies moderately easy for a hair clay. Not too sticky like some other brands. It is unscented or at least a very light generic scent which I greatly prefer. It doesn't fight against my cologne when I do decide to wear any. Having too many scents mixing around is not good. (I just checked the product page to see if it was advertised as Unscent or not, but then noticed that other reviews mentioned a terrible scent. This is not my experience. Perhaps Seven Potions took note of these negative reviews and remedied the scent problem. I bought 2 of their hair clays so I can have 1 at my girlfriend's. I bought them a few weeks apart. Neither had a poor scent. It is pleasant and extremely light. I only smell it from the can and never on myself which is a selling point to me).I would not consider this a "high hold" though. Perhaps medium at best. Then again, I do not put more than a nickel size amount since I do not want to add too much weight to my hair or start looking greasy. The hold is natural as a hair clay should be. It won't fight up against wind (this isn't hair gel). And at the end of the day, the product seems to disintegrate while leaving the volume & curls in my hair, and smooth & soft too. Due to this, it is extremely easy to wash out considering most of the time, I don't feel its presence.I don't see myself using anything else moving forward.

For husbands obsessed with their thick, full hair
Our household spends more money of hair products for my husband who has a thick, full head of hair. This product actually does the job and lasts..all day long. Best value for money. Great consistency. Holds all day in very active, hands on job. Have been buying for years and won’t stop any time soon.

Good product but lacks consistency
I’ve been a loyal customer of this product for quite some time, and while I genuinely like it and have found it effective overall, I’ve noticed an ongoing issue with consistency. The quality seems to vary from purchase to purchase. The most recent one I purchased, for example, had a noticeable granularity that wasn’t present in previous purchases. It’s disappointing, especially since I typically make sure to restock before my current supply runs out to avoid any interruptions. At this point, I’m considering exploring other options that offer more reliable consistency. It’s a good product, but the inconsistency has become too frequent to ignore.

Groundbreaking for me
After living in the darkness of American Crew products & similar for 12 years, this clay has shown me the light. I wish I would've tried clay products much sooner. I had used "Fiber" (blue label) for a long time, moved to the "Forming Cream" (green label), and then the Meijer knock-off of that. They all smelled awful, and were sticky as hell, and hard to clean from the fingers. The Fiber was difficult to apply, and the Forming Cream was relatively ineffective. Much time and care had to be given to achieve a decent result. This Seven Potions Clay amazes me by comparison. It's a good consistency, it's not sticky, and it's very effective. To my surprise, one of the biggest advantages is how time-saving it can be. (By comparison to vastly inferior products.) As soon as you start putting it through your hair, it does exactly what you want it to do. There's not so much trial & error, and redoing everything 9 times over. As the last thing you do before leaving the house, this is most helpful. My hair looks much better than before, AND much quicker. Roughly 2 minutes vs 5+ minutes. That is substantial.Overall, I think it strikes a good balance with most things. Best of all, it's natural. I'm not trying to put 22-letter chemicals in my hair anymore. Gone are those sticky days. That being said, there is one area which should be improved on, and that is the smell. No, it's not terrible, as the more dramatic reviewers suggest. It's just not really what I want in a masculine hair scent. It does smell perfume-y, and perhaps clay-like, but I wouldn't say it smells super unnatural. Though it definitely comes across a good bit. I'd replace the fragrance blend with more nature-y scents if I could. Otherwise, this product is excellent and it still gets 5 stars from me. I urge you to try it. No seriously. Buy it now. :)

Product good, but Amazon supply may be bad
Normally, I love this product and have grown fond of it over the past few years. Most recently, however, Amazon’s supply has been having some issues. I’ve bought and returned 3 in a row over the past couple weeks, looking for a normal tin. The first couple had flakes in it that do not dissolve or fade away as you get the product out. This makes fixing your hair difficult because those flakes get in your hair. Another order came almost completely dried out and hard. This last tin I’ve decided to deal with, but you can see in the photo, it still has these little clumpy flakes.
