Best Microphone stand I've seen!
The Gator Frameworks ID series microphone stand is first class! First of all - it looks great!! Sometimes looks add that extra little bit - when you're on stage people will notice it. The base is solid and heavy enough that a decent weight mic can be used without fear that the whole thing will capsize while you're in the middle of a song. The shape of the base legs and the main cantilever on the boom are more flat than round. There is less worry that the mic will drop when you move the stand around. To open the base and the extensions on the boom, there is a locking lever rather than a screw mount. It is far more stable. The whole thing folds up for transporting - and an added bonus - not even mentioned in the description, is a very nice padded carrying case for the stand. A very small complaint, it would have been a bit better if the stand could fit in the case with the mic clip attached. It doesn't so you have to unscrew the clip to transport the stand. While an inconvenience, it was not big enough to lower the score - a "5" for sure!I've got numerous mic stands, but this is the one I'm going to use the most.***** Updated to mention that I bought a second one of these stands and it did NOT come with a case. I originally dropped the score by a point to a "4" with the absence of the case, but since the price came down a bit, this stand is really a good value - not cheap, but a very good mic stand!

I LOVE this stand! For one thing, it's not a knuckle-buster, like every other stand I ever owned.
These stands travel and stack well, very sturdy and lightweight without a lot of "pinch points" for my fingers to get hurt with. Downside: I had to secure the red plastic tips on the feet with very small guitar screws because they kept falling out. Likewise, the oval slide on the boom has to be secured with epoxy, where it comes loose from the end. I play nearly 200 shows a year, and even with the little preventative repairs required to make them hard-use roadworthy, there's no other stands I'd rather lug around with me.

Sturdy, well designed stand.
I haul my own gear to play one or two gigs a week, and it seems like every mic stand breaks regardless of how much you pay for it. The worst is when the screw that holds the upright piece to the legs strips out. I bought this stand because all the adjustments are cams, not screws. It's a great idea, and so far, it's working out. This is an unusual mic stand. The boom isn't round, it's oval, with a smaller, round boom extension. I mount a n iPhone to the stand when I play, and it will only lock in place to the round part. A cool feature is the counter weight on the boom. You pull it out and the boom extension rotates. So, if you screw in a mic clip not quite straight, that' another way to adjust it.The clutch for height adjustment is supposed to be a quarter turn, but I'm not sure that's always the case. The boom screws into the upright piece, and that seems to come loose sometimes, too.

Terrible design flaw
If I could give less than one star for this product I would. First thing to mention, the seller was fine. No problems shipping and refund was promt. Upon arrival, while putting on my normal gigging mic clip, the part screws into the smallest tube stripped immediately. From barely finger tightening. I'm a gigging pro and use my stands 100+ times a year. I wasn't even able to use this once I thought maybe I would give this design from Gator another chance, as maybe just this particular one I got was a fluke. The exact same thing happened twice in a row. I was excited to use for the holiday season, but couldn't even use either one once. The sad thing is the rest of the design is solid, and I had high hopes. But barely hand tightening the mic clip strips out the clip holder and it freespins and makes the stand useless. Somehow or another I missed the first time that others had had the same problem, so it's a definite design flaw. Again, seller was fine, but the product is worthless.

Love the design
So far, I am over the moon about this mic stand. Best I've ever owned. I've read the other reviews about the design flaw with the mic clip, but so far mine works great. Maybe Gator fixed it. I do lots of gigs every year and I think this is going to serve me well. My mic stand has to hold not only my microphone but my iPad and an iPad clamp. This stand is very sturdy.

Great Mic Stand for the Money
This microphone stand is well worth paying a little extra money for. It's sturdy, and has a thick wide base to keep it stable, the adjustments are easy to make and stay put whenever you want them. I highly recommend this stand. No sagging compared to my cheaper stands.

Best there is
Stout! Folds up great for a small footprint! Opens wide for a stable stance!

Best mic stand.
First off I am by no means a gigging musician. I have played for a about 40 years and I have one monthly show I do with a small group. This is the best mic stand. Wide base, super adjustable. Locking knobs are great. It also looks different so nice to know which one is mine. Won’t buy another one. Works well for playing and sitting at bar stool height or chair height. And of course, standing.
