I actually have three of these. 2 for me, and one for my daughter Rae. They're awesome buggies. They're so fast and surprisingly capable off road, a lot of RC buggies aren't all that great in grass and uneven terrain but this one is very good for the size. The 4WD helps a lot with that. The rear wheels have a limited slip diff so even with the 4WD you can drift it around pretty easily. Speaking of wheels; the tires have good tread on them for grip off road and decent on road traction. The camber is set pretty aggressively so your tires are going to wear down pretty unevenly with extended use, but they do last quite a long time. I did replace the stock nubby tires with grippy on-road tires on one of my buggies and it still goes off-road pretty well. And it makes drifting on asphalt much more enjoyable. Battery life is pretty good. The included battery can get about 25 minutes of pretty intense use out of it. But it's still a 2200 mah battery so that's pretty much the max you'll get. I wish it had more space for a bigger battery but it's a 1/12 buggy so you kind of have to expect it. I have no idea how long it takes to charge the battery with the included usb charger, I've never used it because I have a battery charging station for my lipos. Build quality is great, it has a central structural pillar for added strength and stiffness. I've hit rocks and stuff head on at full speed and nothing has broken. The aluminum chassis is awesome and modular, offering a lot of stability and strength. They always seem to be on some sort of sale so they're a really good value. You get a lot of premium feeling parts for under 200 dollars, sometimes under 150. Great value for a well built brushless buggy. Oh and speaking of brushless, this is a fast buggy, much faster than you'd expect. So definitely get used to it before turning the throttle trim up to 100. Which it does have a completely gradient throttle trim from 0-100 percent, so it's a good candidate for a younger child or a beginner to hobby grade RC cars. The steering servo is quick and responsive which makes the buggy very controllable. It'll turn on a dime. The controller is basic for a hobby grade buggy but it's nice. Throttle trigger is good and the steering wheel feels good. Its nice that you can adjust the steering trim and throttle trim easily. Batteries last quite a while too. The controller is actually very suitable in size for smaller hands and my daughter really likes how she can easily hold it and control it. That being said, I have large hands and I can still comfortably use the controller. The body shell hasn't broken yet and seems to be tougher than the material the omni terminator ones are made out of.

The Rlaarlo X12S is an impressive 1/12-scale brushless buggy that offers a lot for the money. Right out of the box, it’s fast, responsive, and feels solidly built. The brushless system provides strong acceleration, and the 4WD setup gives it excellent traction on dirt, gravel, and short grass. Build quality really stands out for this price range. The metal chassis and components give it a durable, premium feel, and the oil-filled shocks handle bumps well at speed. Steering is precise, and the included transmitter with throttle limiting is a nice touch, especially if you’re newer to faster RC cars. It’s not perfect—like most RTR vehicles, it’s worth checking screws and drivetrain hardware before running—but overall it’s a fantastic value. If you’re looking for a fast, well-built, ready-to-run buggy that doesn’t require immediate upgrades, the X12S is a great choice. I’d recommend getting a few more batteries to extend battery life and drive time. Great Performance and Value for the Price.

I recently got a chance to try out the Rlaarlo X12S Buggy, and I’m genuinely impressed. Right out of the box, it comes Ready to Run (RTR) — just pop in 4 AA batteries for the controller and you're good to go. No complex setup, no hassle. The buggy looks aggressive and sleek, almost like a miniature Formula 1 car, and it lives up to that look. It’s extremely fast, with a solid, balanced build that handles speed incredibly well. Even at full throttle, the radio connection stays rock-solid, which makes driving it feel reliable and smooth. The radio controller is lightweight and comfortable — whether you're a 9-year-old or an adult, it feels natural in hand. The ESC is responsive, and the servo reacts quickly, giving you great control, especially at higher speeds. This car can fly across 40-50 feet in seconds. It has that exciting sound and presence that reminds you you’re not driving a toy — this is a serious hobby-grade buggy. The oil-filled shocks do a fantastic job soaking up jumps and rough patches. Watching the suspension work is part of the fun! One thing I really appreciate is the build quality. You can feel the durability in the chassis and components, and Rlaarlo provides plenty of upgrade parts if you want to customize or enhance performance later. Battery performance is solid — after about a 40-minute recharge, I got around 20–25 minutes of run time, depending on terrain. It flies on pavement and hard dirt, though it slows down a bit on grass — which is expected. I do wish it came with more off-road capable tires for better all-terrain action. Overall, it’s been an exciting and enjoyable experience. Whether you're a beginner or already into RC cars, I highly recommend the X12S. It delivers performance, style, and fun in one great package.

This qualifies as a substantial product.its lightning fast ,maybe too much so.its great on flat surface but off-roading will be the walk of shame if you don't quickly learn to hold back on acceleration. The unit itself is magnificent, the paperwork is lousy. You get the safety rules and copyright warnings and a decent disassembled parts list with numbers and in every language I think. I finally figured out the QR codes will take you to more information . That should be noted somewhere at the beginning.not everyone is familiar with QR codes and what purpose they serve .I barely caught myself before I made a scene and acted foolish.although it's not really a toy it's also not reference grade either but it will still be fun running it for all its worth.tge last rc car I remember playing with was a toy . It was the General Lee and it had a wire running to the little control box and it only went forward.and reverse by yanking on the cord.this is not that one. In addition the QR codes take you to you tube videos which I abhor.some do nothing and another one was repeat of paper work that came with buggy. So I'm on my own trying to figure it out .some weeks later i will add this little car is one tough guy. i can hit a speed bump in the parking lot at about thirty mph and it will do 4 flips and three somersaults before hitting the ground and keep right on going. ive only done this twice as most other times it would have been catastrophic so its not recommended it be tried, its just a testament to the good build quality i have experienced. and it will shred tall grass like nothing you have ever seen.if it had blades attached to the wheels it would make for some interesting yard artwork
