ION*Pet should be added to 1/2 a cup of filtered water. While we cannot recommend usage outside of adding ION*Pet to water, many customers report adding it directly to their pet's food, to ensure the entire amount is consumed.

Is the formula different than the one marketed for people?

I think it might be slightly different because it's for canines. But it is pretty much the same ingredients that I can tell by looking at the ingredient lists on both bottles. I have an old bottle of Restore and it says under the ingredient list it has amino acids (I think? I don't have the bottle in front of me) but I don't see that listed under the pet's ingredient list. Then again I only have the older human bottles that say Restore and I only have the newer version for Pet's that says ION Biome.

Does this need to be refrigerated once opened?

ION* does not require refrigeration as there are no ingredients that can "go bad" nor can ION* grow bacteria. It is very shelf stable. In fact, based on testing, we know that ION* is good for up to six years past the manufacturing date or use by "best by" date which is located on the bottom of the bottle. One can certainly refrigerate their ION* if preferred.

Is this product 3rd party tested? Also why is there silica in the pet formula and not people formula? which form of silica is it (quartz, plants etc)
