Does block heat. Used in my home to keep it cooler in summer months. Make sure you get the lighter one if you are wanting some sunlight for plants.

Gila tint has been around for a long time and is a quality product. Most reviews I think are from those with little knowledge of tinting windows. This film needs to be placed INSIDE your window. (I actually see that people tried to put this on the outside) 35% is a decent darkening and tends to keep the inside much cooler than no tinting at all. It also offers a good amount of privacy for an affordable price. When properly installed this tint holds up very well and is quite scratch resistant. Distortion is minimal and the cling is terrific. Great Product, I would buy it again.

I purchased two rolls, primarily to reduce the temperature while driving (Hawaii). One roll was enough to cover the front windows of a CRV, the second 5 windows of a Miata. The 35% was perfect - noticeably cooler, light enough where visibility isn't reduced at night. Installing it was a bit tricker though.After watching YouTube videos, I installed it using a mixture of water and baby soap. Steps:1. Clean the interior and exterior windows.2. Squeegee the windows clean, wipe with a micro fiber cloth.3. Place the tint on the exterior window and cut to size.4. Remove the sticky adhesive from the tint.5. Apply plenty of water + baby soap to the interior window.6. Remove the tint from the exterior window and slide it into the interior window.7. Squeegee the air bubbles.I should have removed the door, I think over time, the tint may lift off the window after repeated rolling up / down (hasn't after a month though). Also, spray plenty of liquid. The tint is hard to move without it and air bubbles may form. My first window had a few, subsequent ones didn't.Knocked one star off because the package was bent, as well as the tint. I had a little extra so didn't use the worst creased areas.

Absolutely horrible. Very difficult to apply and impossible to accomplish free of imperfections. I have recently, and very happily, bought and applied 4 different varieties of Gila film to windows in my home and loved them all... this product however is AWFUL! The photo attached was my second attempt to apply the film. Having noted all the imperfections on my first attempt -yes I was able to finally apply it successfully- I tore it off and reattempted to apply from an unused portion of the film. On take one the imperfections looked horrendous! But as you can see on take two it was far worse and I ended up with a laughable and useless jumbled mess. The second box I purchased was returned immediately.

Tint fairly easy to apply compared to other brands, color is nice and dark. No purple at all with this product, and it stays that way. Use lots of application solution for best results. My particular roll came squished so it has some kinks in it, which is less than ideal but the manufacturer is not at fault. One roll was enough to do the front windows of a full size pick up truck with no useable spare material. Keeps the sun at bay during the summer and gives a nice look to your vehicle all year round.

I purchased this to cover the window that is over the driver's cab of a Class C motor home. Because the window was inaccessible to me from the outside, I could only fit and trim the window tint from the inside. This proved to be extremely awkward and I ended up taping the window tint to the interior so I could trim it. The window is approximately 20" x 45", and manipulating the tint as I tried to attach it to the window's surface was a struggle. The end result does not look like a professional job, with a few wrinkles trapped in the film, and a little bit of daylight showing through the top edge. But it does what it's supposed to, and this DIY project saved me a bundle of money.

I’ve used several different tints and Gila has been the best. It doesn’t test easily during application, like others. Easy to apply, sticks well and has been durable so far.

It's on the top of my windshield and I love it. Blocks out a lot of glare from the Sun
