Directions Bring water to a boil, add the grits, and simmer until creamy. Review: I have purchased many other brands of grits before and just thought they were okay... So when I found Palmetto grits on desertcart and read some reviews I thought trying them would just yield the same results... Oh HOW WRONG I WAS! This is actually not my first time buying them and the reason is that the taste and flavor and "cookability" of these grits far surpass any others! (No this isn't a paid endorsement...just a happy home chef!☺️👍) I will say that I recommend using half n half for a creamier texture as whole milk is just a bit too watery for our family's taste. My cousin also likes to use heavy whipping cream as part of the liquid however, I find that the half n half (I use the fat free Land O' Lakes brand) works perfectly. I also go ahead and spend the money for a good brand block of sharp cheddar cheese (never skimp out if you can afford not to it's really worth the extra dollar for meltability and consistency of good cheese). I used a smoked Black Forest bacon (won't use that again ...not enough flavor I get in other brands of applewood smoked bacon). I did fry up some chorizo as well as our daughter doesn't really care for shrimp as much. I didn't have any peppers on hand as I like the added color and sweetness from a red pepper but anything you choose to top these grits with will never top the flavor and smooth creaminess of these absolutely perfect grits!!! Trust me ..these are amazing and like they say in My Cousin Vinnie..."No self respecting southerner can make grits in 10 minutes!" 😂😂Follow the time to a "T" of 25 minutes and then stir in your cheddar for a culinary feat of the best flavorful grits you'll ever make!! Bon Apetít!! 👩🏼🍳 Review: Its non-gmo, organic, finely milled and tasty; though a bit comparatively pricey. Compares to Bob-Red Mill's

These grits are so good! They work well for every recipe. I've made them with eggs and bacon and they were perfect. However, where they really shine is as a dessert. With a little sorghum syrup and blueberries, these are delicious.

Hard to believe that I could be born in New Orleans and make it to 60 years old and have to travel to Charleston, SC to try stone ground grits for the first time but that's what happened. My beloved and I went there for a long weekend and I ate my way through the entire town, especially trying the shrimp and grits. There's some sort of rule about being a a real, honest to goodness Cajun male down here it seems, that we all love to cook but it's pretty much true and I do for sure. So I set out to perfect my shrimp and grits and needed some stone ground grits but couldn't find them locally. Unbelievable! So I found them here on Amazon and bought these and they're great. I cook them like I do BBQ; low and slow. :-) Seriously, don't be in a hurry. These are an excellent product with an earthy and rich flavor and a creamy, almost pillowy texture that has to be sampled to appreciate. I literally will never again eat the quick grits unless there is no other option. Which, since I put a couple of bags of these in my freezer, there is. They're not cheap as one would expect something like grits to be, but they are money well-spent if you ask me. I bought the white ones as well as these and they're also quite good.
