Thank you for your inquiry. Our olives are not just from Italy. Filippo Berio has qualified 5 source countries for our NAOOA certified quality olive oil blend. They are; Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal, and Tunisia. Filippo Berio does not exist until the various high-quality oils sourced from these countries is transformed into our proprietary olive oil blend. What is the best buy date on the felippo berio extra virgin olive oil 101 oz tin that you are selling as of feb 1, 2022?

Our Best By date for each product is calculated from bottling at our plant in Italy. Olive oils are variable. Under ideal conditions, they may last much longer than the Best By date. Under poor conditions, they may spoil months before it. The company guarantees the product until the Best By date, and will provide free replacement of product to a consumer if the product spoils before the Best By date. From bottling to Best By is 20 months on our Extra Virgin olive oil and 24 months on our Pure and Extra Light olive oil.

Every year, Filippo Berio’s Olive Oil Masters travel the Mediterranean region in search of quality olive oils, whose distinct characteristics it is believed will contribute to our signature and world-renowned olive oil blend. These Masters, akin to Wine Sommeliers, ultimately taste nearly 6,000 olive oil samples, of which only 10% qualify for potential inclusion in our blend. We source oils from 5 of the largest and most well-respected Mediterranean olive oil producing countries – Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal and Tunisia.
