Q: Will this basket fit into my 5 quart lodge round Dutch oven?

The fry basket is top quality, commercial grade. The dimensions are: 9-1/2 inches across the top , 7-1/4 across the bottom, 5-3/4 high.Its 18 inches from the end of the handle to the drain hook.Hope this helps.

Q: What size pot would you use for this? It seems as if it were not deep enough, the handle sticking out would keep it from going all the way down.

8 1/2 INCH Pot, basket is 5 inches deep, handle is one inch above basket. Hope this is helpful, works great

Q: does this a removable handle?

No it doesn't and it doesn't have a hook on front so you can let it hang to drain the grease
