the website says this watch is a newer model. Is there any difference between Model #010-01769-01 and model #010-01769-00?

I called Garmin Support about this since I too was confused. They double checked and found the -01 is the USA product and the -00 is the Canadian product...but they are exactly the same watch! The Garmin USA website shows the -01 product.

Can the watch tell time? What does the face look like when i want to know what time it is? Dos it show time at nite or do i have push a blacklight but

Yes, it shows the time. You decide how you would like it to display. Either digital/hour-minute hands, 24 hour or 12. You also can change the watch face, different colors- lets you display exactly what you want to view in default. backlight is on, you can dim it or brighten it (brightening will reduce battery). I love my Garmin Vivoactive 3.
