Pet Supply Review: Species Appropriate Diet and an ideal choice if your cat won't eat raw - After stumbling on Dr. Lisa Pierson's site "CatInfo.Org" I gained a real eye-opening experience into why main stream cat food was not working for my kitties. ZiwiPeak is a very expensive and premium cat food- a Species Appropriate Diet food, which in my opinion is worth it. There are no fillers unless you get the old recipe that has carrageenan in it, which has been replaced with guar gum. It is one of the highest pure, high quality protein foods on the market with organs, bone, New Zealand green mussel plus vitamins and minerals. I had been interested in putting my cats on a raw food, species appropriate diet but was unsure if investing in the grinder & supplements was the best way to go. Instead, I purchased a premium frozen raw food from Feline's Pride which was major expensive after shipping, which kitty pretty much rejected right away; I was never able to ease him into it. I ended up giving it away to friend with a young kitty who is delighted- AND THRIVING- on it. Still being passionate about getting my obese cat on proper food, we tried multiple flavors of ZiwiPeak & this is the 1 he likes. Because it has bones in it, it can cause constipation in some cats so you have to work around that. It's also high in phosphorus so if you have a cat with renal disease, use caution, not good for advanced CRF. Since it has no carbs, his weight is coming steadily down, as long as I can keep him out of the Friskies kitty crack the old cat will only eat! Review: Great for Healthy Cats-Pure Animal Protein with Vitamins Next Best to Home Made - Updated review to cover the newly available beef food. It is less expensiveThis review covers all three available flavors of cat food sold by ZiwiPeak. So far this is the only commercial cat food that is pure animal protein with vitamins and minerals. So far all other cat food are loaded with grain (which is a major no-no for cats). Those other cat foods that are claim to be grain free, are loaded with pea protein or bananas. I used to make my own cat food, and I would continue to do so if it weren't for ZiwiPeak. Like the other reviewer, my cats have gorgeous coats, and robust health. Yes this food is expensive for three cats, but I manage costs to some extend by mixing the canned ZiwiPeak with the dried ZiwiPeak (which is technically raw food because of the low drying temperature). The food is so dense and rich with the proper nutrients, that I can feed my mature cats with less than the recommended amounts of food. I have weighed them carefully, vigilantly checked for any signs of malnutrition. My cats have retained a healthy weight, and the vet has commended their obvious health, so I continue to "underfeed" a bit with the combination. According to studies, many of the chronic illnesses experienced by cats today are the result of feeding food filled with grains, so I am saving substantially on vet bills and medications.

Cat Loves no Bones about it
My cat suffers from IBD and have gone thru over 8 formulas trying to find the best for her. And this is the best thing for her condition and have cut down the litter box visits from 4 to 1 a day. However, be mindful of the amount of bones in the can. Since she is over 16 years of age I want to make sure I am not adding to her ailment. So I have to pick out with a tweezer the bones in each can. As you can see some of these bones are almost almost a full milliliter. So when you do purchase this, I highly recommend you notice the amount of bones when you serve it.

Honestly! I've spent thousands on wet canned food trying to find a food my cats will tolerate! Harder than u think!! after my cat was diagnosed with pre diabetes I was told NO MORE DRY FOOD because of the high carbs so I've tried almost every canned cat food their is out there! Not one of them has really been too big of a hit until I found ziwipeak one morning while researching diets for picky cats! I'm telling you, my cats hate every canned food known to man, and devour this food until every last drop is gone which has never happened before!!! I feel as though this brand and flavor is an absolute life saver, literally!! If you have picky cats who would rather not be bothered by any food u give them, this food is for them! Worth the price in my opinion! I'm just a college student with a part time job but get ONLY the best for my babies!! This is the best, so get it...
