Product repeatedly malfunctioning and bad keyboard
Got this new computer just several months ago for law school and after the free return period ended the computer has been repeatedly malfunctioning, shutting itself down without warning or reason, but still showing no error code when I try to investigate. Also the keyboard is not good, really difficult to type on (too much resistance/too difficult to push down the keys). I have used Windows in the past (HP) but never Dell before, and I don't think I will be buying from Dell again ... Other than what I have mentioned I would love the computer, but these are inexcusable defects. I have to replace it because I can't have a computer that might shut down during an exam, and I'm as of yet unsure whether I will be able to claim the warranty for this computer that I paid nearly $1,000 for ... Update 10/27/25: Dell refuses to take responsibility for repeating malfunctions and is blaming various apps like Adobe Acrobat that have worked fine on every other computer I have ever had. I will not be buying from Dell again.

compact, but powerful
Shipped as a two-day prime item and arrived within that window. Nicely packaged in a non-descript box, so if left at your doorstep, no one knows the contents. Dell's own packaging is excellent. The Pc is well protected. The quick start card is a diagram of the keyboard, with an arrow pointing to the on/off button. Nothing else is supplied. On Dell's site, under the support prompt, you can download an extensive, a very extensive, owner's manual. It would be advisable to do that for future reference. Registering the PC for warranty purposes was a bit complicated. Dell has different pages, depending on which retailer you purchased the unit from. It took me three attempts to find the correct page. Registration is straight forward. In less than 30 seconds it was complete. Dell offers several diagnostic apps, one of which is preinstalled. Download the second. You will thank yourself later. I purchased the premium model that came with the I-9 CPU and 32 Ram. That was money well spent. This is a fast, smooth PC. Setup requires some time, because of the updates waiting to be installed from both Microsoft and Dell. This is an AL/Copilot PC, so those updates are needed to maintain efficiency. The unit is lightweight, easy to handle, whether at home, at school, at work, or traveling. Oddly, the screen is closer to being a square than a rectangle. I prefer the latter but will adjust to the difference. What Dell calls ice blue is actually a nice matte silver. Accessory ports are few but adequate. Speakers actually have a nice sound. Thru both Microsoft's and Dell's settings, the sound and the picture can be tuned to your liking. It feels sturdy. The case does not flex and it also metal. Hopefully that will protect the innards from heavy handling. It is set up for Windows Hello, if you are inclined towards that. I would have preferred a fingerprint reader, but Dell rarely offers that option. I rated this PC 4 stars, because I am currently familiarizing myself with what it is capable. To date, I am pleased and enjoying my purchase. 1/12/26-- the battery life is spectacular. Dell's claim of "all day life" are accurate. This PC is power stingy. I stream movies and after hours of play, the battery meter has hardly budged. I cannot answer how the graphics will handle power demanding games as I am not a gamer. For everyday use, including some video work, the graphics is more than adequate. Though I have fine-tuned the sound to suit my needs, it still is not where I would like it to be. Distortion is not a problem, high volume is. Ear buds may resolve that issue. Love the picture. Great choice of resolutions. Distinct coloration.

Always buy bigger than you think you need
NOT a bare bones entry-level system. It will provide years of service without worrying about upgrades. The real cost is the difference between “good enough” and “no worries”. Amortized over a few years, and the extra cost adds up to a couple dollars per month.

Nice design and smooth operation with an excellent price
I believe this is the best deal I got. I was asked to image new machines of Dell Pro14250 and found the design is quite nice and it runs pretty smooth, cool and no noise. I felt it would be suitable for my son who just started his college this fall. I asked our purchaser about the price. She said it was below $1000 for education purchase and I could not get it at that price. I was so happy to get it here for an i7, while the one I worked on is an i5.

Not the flashiest looking laptop, but with the 64gb of ram and i7, damn it’s quick.
