This is not a true shadow box but is a glorified picture frame at best and not a very sturdy one.
The 3/4 inch of "usable depth" is an exaggeration. Could not display a folded American flag plus a few other memorabilia items. I bought it months ago and made the mistake of not opening it until today when I finally had the time to work on my project. So very disappointed. This "shadow box" is little more than a glorified picture frame and totally useless to me. The wood frame is OK but certainly not high quality. The backing is very flimsy. I didn't expect a very high quality for the price but the poor quality still surprised me. I am again on the hunt for a shadow box that will accommodate my father-n-law's military flag.

Nice for the price
Overall the whole frame/case is nice and I highly appreciated the acid free backing on the inside as I used the box to frame my wedding dress and veil. I also likes how the hardware came separately so I could decide how I wanted to hang it.That being said, I wish the backing was more secure. Even with all the metal pieces that push down to hold it, it still feels wobbly in some parts and feels like it might come loose. Because of that I ended up getting black duct tape and taping it secure in the back.My other issue was that the side inside backings came off and were not secure at all. Seemed like they were just taped in with poor adhesive so while I was trying to put everything into the case, the sides kept coming off. I ended up just getting a glue gun and gluing them in place. It does look very nice though and was able to fit my wedding dress in it so I'm happy. And for the price, it's great as othet cases are way more expensive and don't include the acid free backing or the UV glass.

Great for butterflies
I mounted a butterfly in this frame and it looks great. My frame did not fall apart. It's a cheap frame, but it's decent for the price. I'd recommend it.

box was made in bad quality.
Bought this with the intention of making a shadow box of the flowers I received from my boyfriend for our first Valentine’s Day, box was made in bad quality... the pieces that hold the back in place literally broke off the back of the frame the first attempt to even open it. Very disappointed would not buy product again nor would I have if I had known it was a piece of crap ☺️ $15 wasted I’d say.

This frame is perfect.
I have been looking for this size shadow box for months. My cat of 16 years passed away and I wanted to display his paw print. Nothing seemed to be right or what I wanted. I found this one and ordered the weathered blue. This was supposed to arrive sept 5th - 8th because it's not a prime item. I just received it sept 1st very quick shipping and came in a nice sturdy package, bubble wrapped to prevent breakage. When I opened it I could have cried, it is perfect. This frame did not look cheaply made, the color is beautiful, and his paw fit perfectly inside. I am so happy and I highly recommend this product!!

Looks good. Inner dimensions slightly smaller than expected and backing could be better quality.
Item was VERY well packaged and the wood surface was blemish free. Among other frames and boxes, this looks just fine and just like the picture. The acrylic is nice and clear and I could not tell that it was not glass without touching it.That said, I have a few issues that have influenced me to seek out an alternative. If you are the crafty-type, these points probably wouldn’t affect you. In which case feel free to judge my laziness! The backIng is held in by metal tabs that you have to bend down. The tabs on this box will weaken over time and snap off if you keep opening it to make adjustments. However, they should be fine if you plan to display something permanently/semipermanently.The backing is plain white board. It was not cut perfectly square which requires you to remember how it was oriented, otherwise it will bow if you try to force it. You do not see the unevenness from the front if you keep the liner in. But why would I entertain removing the liner? The inner size is not 14x14 due to the .5cm thick white liner that runs around the edge which is similar to peel and stick foam weatherstripping (I should emphasize it looks nice and sturdy). However, if you removed the lining the inside of the frame becomes at least 14x14 which may be important if you intend to use a precut mat with that length and or width. If you removed the lining, nothing is holding the acrylic to the front of the frame. Additionally, because the backing is not slotted in with the types of tabs that swing out, which would give you a fixed depth, removing the liner would cause the back to collapse in.As I said, the box looks good for what it is but it did not match my initial expectations. I will repurpose it for another project.

comes with a plastic pane fyi
frame is nice. the quality is what i expected and i'm not unhappy wirh my pirchase. but be aware it comes with a plastic pane, instead of glass. which unfortunately held static electricity. i thought to wipe it down with some water & a cloth but ended up scratching the ba-gee-bus outta it. so, by all means get the frame, but be careful with the plastic!

Just what I've been looking for but way too expensive
I created a very large foam poster board with photographs of my mom after she passed away and have had it for years with no cover or frame because the foam board was too thick for normal poster sized frames, as they didn't have enough "depth" to fit the foam board thickness inside. So after years of looking online and at craft stores, I looked one more time and found this frame. It is perfect in that it is the large enough size overall AND it has plenty (even more than needed) depth to fit the thickness of the foam board inside. I got the blue color which is very pretty. Although I don't think this is made of real "wood". The only issue I had was the price being SO high at almost $90!! The only reason I spent that much is because it was the first time I'd found the sized frame that would work for what I needed and had spent years looking and needed to cover my memorial board before it got yellowed and aged. So overall I'm happy with the product, just not the price.
