Will Brighten Your Hyperpigmentation
I use this to brighten dark spots and hyperpigmentation on my skin. A little goes a long way and I have seen some of my dark spots begin to fade. Definitely plan to repurchase.

Seeing a reduction in redness so far
The concept of having the serum and red light therapy with a microcurrent wand in the same product was definitely intriguing and more cost effective than ordering them separately. For the serum, the recommended amount to use was way more product than my skin could handle. I have tried the 2-3 pumps the bottle recommends, but found that in the end, my skin really only takes about 1-1.5 pumps on clean skin. You apply the serum then you're supposed to glide the cap over it to get your skin to really absorb it. You use the cap for 3 minutes and really like that it has a built in timer so I don't have to watch the clock or guess how long I've been using it. Once the 3 minutes is up, it shuts off automatically. The light and microcurrent has 3 levels and works when it sits flush with your skin. This works great in large areas like my cheeks and forehead, but it does't work on and around my nose and chin. I personally works have preferred a smaller microcurrent so it worked in more areas. The serum is pretty sticky so I didn't feel like the lid really smoothly slid on my face. I experimented with more serum, less, using it right after applying serum, as well as waiting until it was absorbed more. Every way I tried it, it still feels like it drags on the sticky serum than it glides. The microcurrent does help with the absorbing. I didn't have any irritation while using the red light or any of the 3 levels of the microcurrent. The microcurrent isn't overly noticeable on the first level, but becomes more noticeable the higher you go. It doesn't cause any pain got me, just a tingling sensation.Again, I've tried it with the recommended amount and ultimately ended up on an amount that works best for me. I had the same results with the cap regardless of how much serum I use. I didn't find that using the recommended amount had my skin accept more serum, it just took longer to absorb or left a layer on top of my skin. With the 1.5 pumps, it doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky after using the top, not leaves my skin feels soft and moisturized. I have noticed that the redness in my face has been getting lighter and lighter so I'll definitely stick with it.

Loving it so far
So I've been using this serum plus EP device for two weeks, and that's not really long enough to talk about the long term results of using this. But I've been enjoying it, and thought I'd share my thoughts. This is my first time using an arbutin product, and so far so good. I use a lot of actives in my skincare, and I have a lot of hyperpigmentation. So I'm always searching for something that will work on my dark spots. I know arbutin is a proven spot treatment, so I have high hopes for this. But the funnest part of this is the EP device. EP stands for electroporation, and it's using electricity to create little temporary pores in your skin. This is used here to get the serum to absorb faster. I guess it's a lot like spicules, but with a device. EP is widely used in medical and research applications also. The device might light up red, but this is not a red light device, which I am glad, because heat tends to give me more dark spots! There are 3 settings, and I highly recommend starting with level one until you get used to it. It's a bit weird at first. It might feel like tiny rubber bands snapping. You will need the serum or another type of gel (water-y product), because it needs something conductive to work. I've been adding my beloved azelaic acid to the mix. The arbutin serum is very gentle, and scent-free. It's moisturizing, but still very light. It absorbs well, unless you are like me and uses way too much, in which case, it remains sticky for a bit longer. The device has a charger, and a single charge lasts a long time. I like how the device and the serum are integrated, so there's not another item to store. I will come back and share if there are any new developments.Edited to add: I noticed today that I have new broken capillaries on my nose and under it. I’ve always been prone to those, so if you are also prone to those, be careful. I’ve changed the review from 5 stars to 3. Use with caution.
