Arc International Luminarc Canterbury Bowl, Clear

Wow, just wow! I've lost track of the years but it must have been 30 or more years ago that I bought the entire set of these dishes. Eventually all but one cup, 5 dinner plates and 3 or 4 of this size bowl were broken. This size bowl fits perfectly in my cat's feeding stand plus being a good size for cereal, beating eggs, salad, soup and what not. A few years ago, I found this size bowl in stock at BB&B and bought all they had. This was back when Amazon.com was still primarily selling books.Of course, over the years I broke several of the BB&B bought bowls and was reaching the point I needed more bowls. So onto Amazon.com I hopped (as usual) and wow, just wow, there was my favorite small bowl. Stock was low so fortunately, I bought a set before they sold out. They arrived today and I have to wonder if these bowls will still be available somewhere someday when I need more. I sure hope so.I really like the Arc International Luminarc Canterbury dinnerware so may have to buy other pieces while it's available here at Amazon.com. The pieces just sparkle coming out of the dishwasher. I'm a happy camper and kitty sends her thanks to Amazon.com for selling a big stack of her favorite bowls!

I was skeptical at first to buy these. When I visualized the measurements I thought they would be so small. I was even more skeptical when the box came and from the looks of the box that fit 12 of these in, it was really small. I was also scared from previous reviews that they would be flimsy. I'm so glad that I bought them! After unpacking them and initially cleaning them, I took one of the bowls and served myself salad and was relieved, they are really perfect size for salad or soup. The detail on the bowl is really pretty too, it really ties the whole table setting together. As far as how sturdy they are, they seem much thicker than what other reviewers had posted. I really think they will hold up just fine. I probably would put them on the top rack of the dishwasher just to fit better and to be on the safe side.

I originally got the Luminarc Canterbury bowls as a wedding gift 26yrs ago! They camewith a coordinating large salad bowl. I liked having a nicer decorative clear glass bowl to serve salad in rather than a cereal bowl from my main dish set. I found that recently, I was using the clear glass bowls more and more for cereal, ice cream, etc in addition to salad. So I decided to get some more since I only had 6. I am enjoying the new ones just as much as the ones I got 26 years ago! They are ever so slightly smaller, but it has been fine. They are my go to bowl for all kinds of things!

I needed to order some Luminarc replacement bowls for a couple that I broke. I did not care about matching the patterns because I use these glass bowls to feed my cats. I cannot use plastic as it gives them feline acne. After pricing this type of bowl individually at a large so called discount store, I decided to look on Amazon. It was cheaper for me to order a set of 12 bowls vs purchasing individual bowls at the store. These bowls are simple but pretty and the glass is very durable. I could justify ordering 12 as I will have these for a lifetime and probably will never need to buy replacements in my lifetime. These bowls also make great chilled salad or dessert bowls.

it isn't quite the same as my original ones

I was very pleased with the quality of these bowls. I had some I bought previously at a big box store, and after years of breaking one here & there, I needed replacements. These are identical in appearance When I took them out of the box, I instantly noticed a difference in weight. The ones I originally bought weigh 8.8 each; these are 9.8 oz. each. Maybe the manufacturer makes the lighter weight ones for discount stores. They're the same size, etc.; they're just more thick than the ones I originally bought.

I am slowly replacing Luminarc items I bought 35 years ago. Finally broke the last of my original 8 of these bowls.All Luminarc's glass is chip resistant, functional, and gives long service. But these bowls are amazing. Took tremendous daily abuse with no scratching.New is absolutely identical to the original - for a bargain price. GET THESE!

I bought a set of 6 of these salad bowls probably 20+ years ago. My husband and I both liked everything about them and we used them so much I had only 3 left. Imagine my excitement when I found them here!!
