Marisa in particular needed energy without the usual side effects of increased anxiety due to her ADHD. Marisa found that instead of drinking a coffee or energy drink and becoming more productive when studying or at work, that she actually felt worse. What is Matcha Tea?

Matcha is made by taking green tea leaves from the camellia sinensis (tea plant) and grinding them into a fine matcha powder which you can enjoy in a smoothie, a matcha latte, or traditionally with hot water. Our organic matcha powder is shade grown and single origin, from Uji, the renowned matcha powder growing region in Japan. This authentic green tea is handpicked from local sustainable farms to bring you the best quality organic, ceremonial grade matcha.

Matcha Benefits

We’re often asked “is matcha green tea good for you?” and about matcha tea benefits, and there are quite a few! Matcha powder is a superfood, containing L-theanine: an amazing amino acid known for reducing anxiety and increasing focus. Matcha powder also contains EGCG catechin, an antioxidant reputed to fight inflammation, speed up metabolism, and reduce cholesterol. Matcha green tea contains roughly 50x more antioxidants per gram than spinach. So, is matcha tea good for you? Well, we’re a bit biased but we think it’s pretty amazing and when it comes to enjoying all those matcha benefits our natural energy drinks are as convenient as it gets convenient, no whisking, no measuring, just crack open that can and enjoy.

Does Matcha Powder contain caffeine?

Yes, whether you’re whisking up a matcha latte, or adding a spoonful to your smoothie, a single serving of matcha (1-2 grams) will give you a similar amount of caffeine to a cup of coffee (around 60-80mg), but, where coffee can give you that jittery, uneasy feeling, PerfectTed matcha powder and energy drins provide slow releasing energy. This means that where a coffee will last a couple of hours, our natural energy drinks will give you a consistent flow of caffeine for 4-6 hours, that’s enough to get you through a boring afternoon in the office!

What does matcha taste like?

Let’s clear this up, a lot of people have tried matcha powder once and been put off by bitterness, or a strong seaweedy, perhaps even fishy aroma. Our energy drinks aren’t designed to have a strong matcha flavour. We wanted our energy drinks to be accessible to those who may be put off by matcha but still need the benefits so we have flavoured them with fruits.
