So the mini safe for your auto fits a full size Glock 17 with one more magazine. I am showing a Stoeger STR-9C with two magazines plus one in the pistol.DO NOT PLACE ANYTHING NEAR THE SWING OF THE LOCK OR IT WILL BE VERY DIFFICULT TO LOCK OR UNLOCK IT. I read in a review that someone had locked it and couldn’t unlock it. If this happens stand the safe up so the lock is at the top then tap it down with some force so what ever is in there slides downward away from the lock so you can turn the key and open it.It does not come with an address to write for extra keys. It only d with two keys as stated.The inside is a black foam cut to shape, nothing special but does its job Nicely and can be replaced later on as it is not glued into the box which is good.Finish is a a flat stipple black and is nice. Hinges appear to be okay. Lock mechanism seems solid and shows no play.Cable that comes with it is okay and does its job.

This was a gift, sturdy, heavy and will keep the guns locked away.

This box is surprisingly heavy and solid, much more so than i expected; there's nothing about it that rattles or is loose. It doesnt come across as a toy. The finish is surprisingly nice, seems baked on. As a former locksmith, ill attest this box would be very tough to pry open with a screwdriver, and just pounding on it with a hammer isnt going to work either. To break it open would take at least several minutes, which is not bad at all for a sub-$30 box, so its for use when you're out and about, not overnight storage. Its far more secure than any locking glove box. I bought it to keep my gun from being stolen in a smash-and-grab when im stepped away from the car. The cable itself is the weak spot, if any, but such cables are not necessarily quickly cut or defeated. The combo dial can be shiny and a bit tough to see at night. The key lock would be faster and easier to use, but keys can be lost, and its not easy to get copies. the box can also be used in motels, hospital rooms, one's work, etc. Overall a very good buy.

This is a solid, metal constructed safe for handguns and other small valuables. It has heft, but not too much. The 3-digit combination was easy to set up. Securing your handguns from children, distressed adults and thieves is both wise and now legally required in some states, like Michigan. Children are naturally curious, and they should not kill or be killed due to this. Teens are famously moody. This is also better for STORING handguns than plush padded transportation cases, which hold humidity against the gun, which is BAD for rust formation. NEVER store your guns in cases that "hug" the gun. Instead, let AIR surround the gun. For this safe, it may be best to remove 1 or both layers of foam to allow that air circulation.

Just big enough for a compact. Note gun safety laws in your area, big liability now. Combination lock is easy to use for quick access.

great product . I keep it in my car

I have owned this safe for a little over 2 years, and have stored it in a dry, temperature-regulated cabinet. During this time I have probably opened and closed the safe no more than 5 times. Last night I tried to open it, and noticed that the three numbered wheels were depressed down toward the inside of the safe, and were difficult to rotate. At that point I thought I would have to break into the safe to get it open. But fortunately, I was able to move the wheels using a small screwdriver to set them in the correct order. That's when the entire combination mechanism disappeared into the safe and disintegrated into all its parts. I was amazed what a piece of junk this combination safe is, with cheap stamped metal parts and plastic tumblers. What a joke. All someone would have to do is take a screwdriver put it on the tumbler wheel and give it a wack. The whole thing would fall apart. This company also makes a keyed version of this safe, and maybe that would be a better choice. I can't believe that it could be any worse than the combination system they use, and I was lucky to get it open.
