Aiva Golden California Raisins (5 LB) – Naturally Sweet Dried Fruit for Snacking, Baking, and Cooking

My husband’s FAVORITE raisins, thank goodness we buy in bulk (5 lb bag). The raisins always arrive fresh, sweet and good size. These raisins will spoil you for all other types.

These are delicious to just eat a hand full but I use them in a Bohemian sweet bread called Houska! When you toast the bread all the deliciousness of these golden raisins come alive.

My reason to actually write a review is because even though it says it is California raisins, there is no other indication on the packaging that these come from California. If they are from California, I think Aiva would want to feature that in print. Therefore, I don't really know or maybe it is trust because I am so cynical about these things that the raisins indeed are from CA. Other than that, they are colorful, juicy and still preserved well many moths after making the initial purchase. Unlike some other reviews, I did not notice any unpleasant smell. I have used them in cookies, yogurt and salads. I would also give a shout out to Aiva if they have ever considered switching to paper packaging or something more biodegradable than the current wrap.

These raisins look great, however, they carry a glue, plastic or machine oil smell that is impossible to get out of the raisin. I have placed packets of baking soda in the jars, have tried to 'air' then out, and have placed a half an apple in the jar with them. None of these efforts worked and i had to throw them out after baking cookies with them. Nothing worked to remove the smell, not even baking. Such a disappointment in such a product. Not worth the money ever.

These raisins are fantastic! I bought another brand once. It was terrible. There was so much waste! This brand is so good. The raisins always look and taste fresh. I use them in my homemade bread. They give an added flavor to my bread. Thank you for your commitment to providing fresh ingredients!

High quality raisin. No preservatives, naturally gluten-free, Non-GMO and sweet tastes. Very fresh and best for baking. I also eat as snacks. High in iron, potassium and fiber. It helps me to stop for sugar cravings.

Beautiful yet tastes like sulfur!!! Why did they screw up these raisens with sulfur dioxide? Sunmaid raises don't use it and I'm very disappointed. I'll buy from the grocer from now on. A true waste.
