Pintxos: Small Plates in the Basque Tradition

I was very happy with this book. don't really know what to say beyond that -- overall, everything I made from this was delicious, the recipes are thorough and easy to follow, all the photos are beautiful, and I look forward to making more from this book. money well spent

Not for the novice cook. The recipes are comprised multiple ingredients and may require some searching for some of the Basque/Spanish items which won't be in everyone's pantry. That said, these are some fabulous small bites and plates which will leave you with looking to make the next item and sharing with friends. There is a treasure chest of recipes/references at the end - pantry items you can establish for yourself like Lemon Confit, Piperade and my own personal addiction - ham dust. Oh yeah!

Interesting book, I have yet to cook from it, but the recipes are straightforward and doable.

This cookbook was more t he an needed to creative cooking onto appetizer s types of Spains tapas or pixtos too!

Not a lot of usable recipes in this book... plus, the photography was a little to artsy and vague.. I hate that. It’s a lot of fine dining style presentation and kina more a Chef biography rather than a cookbook. If you actually wanna make any of these recipes you are gonna have to wing it a lot... good for ideas, but there are better tapas books out there with usable and accessible recipes both for professional and novice cooks. Just my opinion... I have been a chef for almost 15 years and use cookbooks regularly for brainstorming specials and recipe reference... I didn’t get much use out of this book.

A wonderful gift for a great chef or neophyte homemaker! Aromas and tastes are spirit lifters in all situations. From ethnic holiday get togethers, to divorce “celebrations,” this collection has proven to be a huge “winner!” Used recipes for three [3] evening events and each was a home run, for both men and women. This is a must for anyone who plans-wishes to be a central element in social situations.

This was actually a gift for a friend. I will admit to opening it up and perusing all the recipes. Basque food is delicious and I will end up buying this book for myself eventually. The pictures of the food are great. The recipes were easy to follow. I have been looking for a Basque cookbook for a while and this one is great for appetizer style food.

Das Buch hat das Thema verfehlt. Wenig Rezepte über Pintxos, kaum Bilder. Herausgeworfenes Geld. Das einzig positive an dem Buch ist das Cover.
