ECOTEAS Organic Yerba Mate Loose Tea Traditional Cut 1 Pound

Very clean tasting, decent ratio of stem and leaves, enjoyed it and will probably buy more from this brand. I like that it’s organic and unsmoked…there are risks with Yerba mate because smoked Yerba mate can contain high levels of PAFs from the wood burning smoked variety, Ecoteas air dries their product and the organic certification is a nice peace of mind. I tried Yerba mate back in the early 2000s and I really enjoyed the caffeine boost without the jitters. The earthy aroma and taste is like a richer green tea with additional health benefits. I remember it helped with satiety and aided weight loss/maintenance. Feels like it helps with focus too, similar to coffee but better.

Great antioxidant profile. The caffeine is cleaner, there is not a major crash throughout the day and it does not cause jitters (everyone is different so be mindful). It has a pleasant taste with a hint of bittersweet flavour. I brew it in a French press with hot water and pour into a different container for consumption throughout the day(s).

My new morning ritual. This tea is wonderful. It clears my head, improves my mood, and helps with elimination and decreases my appetite. I'm sure it increases my metabolism but I can't say for sure -- I just know it increases my energy level. It tastes awful though when I brew it as instructed on the bag but I just add some fresh lemon juice and drink it down (about 8-10 ounces) about 90-120 minutes after I wake up. I have cut down on coffee and feel this tea has more of a positive effect.
