**Update Dec 2019** - These rings have now been outside in the backyard for over 18 months, completely exposed to the elements and crazy temperature swings of North Carolina, and so far the rings look as good as the day I bought them. No rust. No deformity in the ring or break in the weld despite holding up the wire rope and string lights. Still looks like a perfect circle. Very happy. --- Original review: Used several of these rings as part of a wire rope assembly to hang industrial grade string lights in the backyard. The string lights are hung in a way that several strings of lights converge on one spot (where the ring is) with four string lights hooked onto each ring. The string lights span a distance of about 75 feet and the lights themselves are quite heavy and the wire rope (1/4") gets heavy as well, and the rope is under quite a bit of tension. I'm happy to report that these rings have not become bent or distorted despite the weight and tension on them, and that after an entire summer of being exposed to the elements, shows no signs of rust or breakdown. Quality item.

I ordered the five pack of 1 1/4 inch diameter rings. What I received was a single ring in a plastic envelope. This is frustrating because it’s throwing my project behind but they are making it right by sending me four more rings. Pretty big hassle for such a simple order, the shipping label even says it’s a five pack right on it. Sounds like an employee problem at the warehouse. Still, the seller is making it right so ultimately things are OK. The ring itself is pretty nice but it does have a nice smooth weld on it but that will not affect my application. You should note that these are metric rings, not inch, so the actual dimensions are not exactly 1 1/4 inch inside diameter. The ring actual inside diameter is 30 mm and the thickness of the stock is 6 mm.

Not a scientific item at this time. Very well could be and in the future would recommend. I used this as a pair for a buckle strap retainer. One inch stainless steel NPT pipe with a tee. Strap goes up pipe, through rings, over tee and down through rings. Then back up between rings like the ordinary claps of ancient origin. This secures ratchet to lift 450 pound motorcycle. Easy to raise to 45 degrees and now can be lifted straight. Strong enough for any strap rating for this purpose. Clean and polished totally finished. Any maritime or animal, or science project. Go with D ring for fashion, tie down, exercise, with confidence.

These are really nice looking quality rings. A quick measure with a tape says these are 2 3/8” to the inside, or very close. I did not (or even have a way to) check for perfect round. I know they are welded, and even in the picture you can see a weld line, but I can’t see the weld line even on close inspection. I hope the 1 5/8” I’m replacing these with are as nice as these. I’m actually returning mine because I got in a hurry and got the wrong size. I have to pay $5 to return them, which I’m a little annoyed about, but it’s my fault, so better to get $14 out of $19 back instead of just having them sit around and never get used. If free shipping and free returns are important to you pay attention. Some sizes are fulfilled by amazon and are free returns and some are from outside vendors and are not.
