It's a gourmet Jarlsberg cheese, made in Norway. BTW, it's delicious!

Is this also sold in Costco?

No good, not to my taste. I won't buy it again.

Does it need refrigeration before opening?

yes, it does. If opened, wrap in wax paper and put in a tupperware container. Refrigerate even if unopened in vacuum-sealed wrap.
