Look Out for Turtles! (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science 2)

My son used this book to learn about turtles before he wrote a research paragraph. It says it is a Step 2 reader but there is enough information. The illustrations are beautiful too. DS8 is in 3rd grade and reads well above grade level but I wanted a book with info, that he could read in one writing period and complete a paragraph or at least get it organized. This book met all criteria. The book mentions it is written for 5 to 9-year-olds. It discusses the parts of the turtle's shell, the life cycle of the turtle, habitats (sea & land), why turtles have survived, why turtles are threatened, what they eat, hibernation, predators, basic size information, information on handling turtles.

As a homeschooling mom, we found this book very informative about turtles. We did a unit on turtles and found this book to be an excellent book to use in our study of turtles. My daughter enjoyed the book and so did my 23 month old son who loved the turtle pictures. I like these Let's Read and Find out Science books. They are excellent way to teach your children about different science topics.

An informative addition to my classroom non fiction library. My students loved it.

My kids (ages 5 & 3) loved this book on turtles. We used it for school. They both took turns looking at pictures after we read it and they both requested to have it read to them again. What more can you ask for from a book?

This book was recommended by our local nature center. There are lots of turtles in our area this book was perfect.

Although the information in this book is good I was not impressed when I found several of the pages stuck together at the top. Luckily I was able to get them apart with a sharp knife.

this was purchased for my now 10 month old great nephew. his mom reads it to him often she read it even before he was born to him.

Children love having these books read to them, and I love that they are learning about animals and our environment.
