What does USDA Certified Organic actually mean?

Our family farm is organic-certified. We test for heavy metals and harmful chemicals regularly. Grown at an altitude of 600 meters in Uji, Japan, we practice organic farming without pesticides and chemicals thanks to fewer crop-damaging insects.

Cultivars are selectively bred plants for desired traits and qualities. We selected the superior OKUMIDORI cultivar for its fragrant sweet umami flavor & aroma. Shade-grown for 4 weeks, OKUMIDORI matcha boasts bold umami with minimal astringency.

What is the difference between the Okumidori tin and pouch?

The classic Okumidori tin is from our family farm in Uji, Japan, limited to 80kg/year. The pouch is from the renowned Nishi farm in Kagoshima, Japan. Both Matcha teas offer exceptional quality with rich umami creaminess and minimal astringency.
