Amazing sound and quality for the price, BT connection issues
My first pair of BT stereo speakers bought them for my MBP and new desk but man these speakers are seriously nice. I am a self proclaimed audiophile have a really nice home setup, NAD Amp, Dynaudio speakers etc and when I fired these up for the first time a couple of days ago I was and am impressed. Read all the high end stereo online reviews and so glad I went with these but they are more than just your hi end computer speakers these are serious Audi devices. Highly recommend and could not be happier with my purchase they come with all cables and are easy to pair. UPDATE- After having these for month now I wanted to share my experience. - Sound is fantastic, be sure and enable LDAC on your phone, computer whatever you are transmitting with and as high a bitrate as you can in the app. - Bluetooth is VERY flaky we MR5 owners need a BT update. Works fine when paired but if I stop streaming and change BT endpoint or make any changes etc I have to unpair and re-pair the speakers to my phone. It will show connected but won't stream music or sound, tried it with Samsung S24U and iPhone 17 and it is definitely an issue that needs addressed. Restarting phones doesn't help, still shows connected just fine but no sound. Go to BT settings and unpair and put the MR5 in BT discovery mode again, pair and enable LDAC on phone and they work fine until next time. - There are 3 BT channel lights, white, green and red doesn't matter which you are on they still stop streaming sound under most circumstances I previously mentioned.

Great bookshelf
Came with no issues just plug and play. Sounds are great, clear and crips didn't need to go higher that vol.10. Worth the price.

My Two Cents!!
I'm not a professional, but I've been experimenting with self powered bookshelf/desktop speakers for years, claiming to have exceptional sound quality. Some good and some not so good. A good balance of highs & lows are very important and lets not forget the mid range. I'm 69 years old and I don't need a lot of house shaking bass, but the bass is there. It has tuned ports and is down firing, a great design. Using a graphic equalizer you can...bring it out! But for me, Rock & Classical Instrumentals are very clear with great separation, the best I've heard so far. For the price, I don't think you'll be disappointed. And for the cosmetic look it's an A+. On my desk, they have a studio look. Again I'm not a professional. Enjoy!

Nice Speaker System for Smaller Quiet Spaces
Nice speaker system for the money. Sound quality is good for this size speaker, not quite enough power for my pool room area but adequate overall. Bluetooth works well, equalization controls barely adequate. Good functionality and quality is nice overall. Nice size and surprisingly hefty in weight which is usually a good sign.

Average sound for high price - missing mid-details
decent product, average sound for high price, horrible care and tricky listing. I was looking for something similar to MR5 2.0 but in black they were unavailable for a week. Then one day i opened wish list again and found one for $192. Checked twice the advert page - nothing unusual. It was a stock picture (first mislead) and on the right bottom (where usually used items for sale) it was nothing then i concluded those Edifiers for some reason are new but with discount. The next day i checked again my order and found in it - "Used Acceptable". Surprise... Suggest to check carefully prior clicking BUY. Update: after purchasing a new power cord, i spent 2 days to "squeeze" the most of it. Not much. I wanted to see something obviously better then curren R1700BT... Here is details: - built quality look very good so i expected a solid sound too, but no luck - the most informative range - Mids - is a disaster. First, i feel that the x-overs not properly designed, thus i added 2k (1dB), 4k (2dB), 8k (2.5dB) and the last (+2dB) and in addition 500Hz (-1dB) to minimize a parasite sounds JUST to get closer to R1700BT mids. - This is Class D so adding and playing with Equilizer may (and will) do horrible things to overall sound appearance. And it did : instead of hearing a bit more reasonable mids, it came strange to "muddy" sounds all over the bands. - The true things - RESOLUTION (what claimend a Hi-Res certified) is a fake. Either Edifier decided to re-use a rubber-suspended mid-range speaker from other models or something else, but there is NO DEFINITION NOR FIDELITY at all. What you hear is a cheap boombox (for $30) for $345. Again, that is MY OPINION and i am not pretending i am right in all aspects. - While my 7 years old Edifier R1700BT not perfect and the lower range is not a shockingly good (like 60Hz) to me they perform BETTER from A-Z. Will not say much about poorly glued feet (they split every time of the speakers), physically bent (!!!) volute potentiometer knob, and missing power cable from the package... I can tolerate that, but cannot tolerate missing resolution in the most informative band - THE MIDS and MID-HIGHS. Bass is below my expectations too. So today i initiated return and am happy to say to the world that i keep my Edifiers E1700BT for a foreseen future till find a better alternative. I am with Hi-Fi for looooong time:)

The Edifier MR5 2.0 Studio Monitor Speakers are exactly what I needed for my sound studio. As someone who owns DJ equipment, I was looking for compact, great-sounding active speakers, and these absolutely deliver. Despite their small footprint, the MR5s produce clean, powerful, and accurate sound, making them perfect for monitoring, mixing, or simply enjoying music. The 110W RMS power and Hi-Res Audio certification really show in the clarity and depth of the audio. One of my favorite features is the wide range of connection options—including 1/4-inch, XLR, and AUX inputs. This makes them incredibly versatile and easy to integrate into any setup, whether for studio work, DJing, or everyday listening. Bluetooth 6.0 is a nice bonus for quick wireless playback. Overall, I love these speakers. They punch well above their size and price, and they’re a fantastic choice for anyone needing reliable, great-sounding monitors in a compact form.
