The toilet seat and fittings appear to be of reasonable quality and fairly priced. The seat and lid look attractive with the varnished wood grain finish. As for installing it, the only tricky part was in adjusting the hinge fittings, to the width of the bolts that pass through the holes in the toilet bowl. The hinges feature a round disc with holes, which can be loosened and adjusted, to pivot around a screw in one corner. This allows the seat to fit a toilets within a range of widths. The problem was that you cannot adjust and then tighten the hinge once it is in position, because the screw to be tightened is then no longer accessible. The solution is the insert the long bolts first; then carefully measure the width, between the centres of the two bolts; then (before putting the loo seat on), loosen the adjustable hinge discs, set them symmetrically to provide the required distance to match the bolts, and tighten them; THEN you can place the seat on the loo and the hinges will fit the bolts. Finally, tighten the bolts from below, using the wingnut wrench (albeit plastic) supplied.

Good quality item. Soft close works well. Easy to fit and stays in place well due to design of fitting kit.

I sometimes wonder if Amazon doesn't lump generic items such as toilet seats together, because I don't recognise the truth of some of these reviews. The seat itself is great. You need to find a video that explains how to install this particular seat. The brand is WOLTU. There's a list of parts, but no instructions included in the packaging. The major problem was that the plastic lugs through which you connect the two metal pins that hold the seat in place were too big. Eventually I greased them and hammered them into place. Once done you can tighten the nuts.

It's a bit on the sad side when the highlight of your day is a new toilet seat, but nevertheless, it is what it is. It's true that the old one was well past its throw away date and on the back of that little fact, I don't think I have ever been as pleased with a purchase decision as I was with this particular seat. I purchased the beech type which has a lovely deep brown/red colour and comes in a high gloss finish, which to my mind, is easier to keep clean and looks really nice, too. It was super easy to install and as I have a non functional left hand at present, I did it with one hand. In fact the only hard part about fitting this seat was getting the old one off, especially when you only have one good hand to work with. You just have to remember that the dome-shaped end of the rubber washers, directly face the underside of the hole through which the screws go through, and the metal washers connect with the flat part. This is to ensure a the dome shaped part gets squeezed into the fitting holes and ensues a good tight fit. It literally took a few minutes to fit the new one as opposed to around 20 mins to get the old one off. I also love the soft close feature, although this is not the reason I chose this particular seat. I chose it because it looked sturdy and robust and in that regard I wasn't disappointed, either. The fittings are metal with a chrome finish and looks and feels like it will last and not fall apart with use. The soft close feature was just a bonus which I really like and works well and is noiseless except for a gentle click as it connects with the wooden seat or toilet rim. Overall, I am so glad I chose this one as opposed to others I looked at and for the price, you can't go wrong. I am really pleased with this particular seat and feel I couldn't have made a better choice if I had tried.

Really good quality and easy to fit. Looks amazing and feels very sturdy. Wood is a lot thicker than I thought it would be.

Edit after 2 years: I initially gave 5 stars, but marked down to 3 stars as after just 1.5 years the seat started being very unstable, no matter how often I tighten the bolts and one side has even come completely loose just now. I'm normal weight, so it's not me but the quality of the fittings. (original review)I bought this toilet seat to replace a black wood Ikea seat and couldn't be happier with me purchase. It was not only cheaper than the Ikea toilet seat, but far superior quality both in terms of the actual seat but also the fixtures and fitting. It looks far more expensive than it was. Also, I found the installation very straight forward - again much better than my experience a few years ago with the Ikea seat. I would highly recommend this seat to anyone, it's an absolut bargain for what you get!

Unbedingt Bedienungsanleitung lesen, denn der Deckel / Brille wird sozusagen 'nur' in 2 Löcher gesteckt. Bei jeder größeren Bewegung rutscht die Brille raus u du sitzt auf dem kalten Klo... Ärgerlich....

Este asiento con tapa para inodoro es de muy buena calidad, principalmente por los materiales de fabricación del mismo. Tanto el aro como la tapa están hechos de MDF de alta calidad, es decir, fabricado con fibras de madera unidas por resina sintética y comprimidas por presión y calor, dando como resultado un material sólido y muy uniforme, con buen acabado y durabilidad, siendo mucho más resistente que el plástico común, recubierto en su parte exterior de PVC lacado con una imagen muy brillante, colorida y bonita. La otra parte importante del material a destacar son sus bisagras, las cuales son de acero inoxidable y aleación de zinc, dando a esta parte una terminación brillante y duradera. Podemos atribuir otras características a este producto que lo hacen un producto destacable, como son las siguientes: Es muy fácil y rápida de instalar, solo necesitas un destornillador de cruz (no incluido) y la llave allen que viene con el material. Las bisagras giran 180 grados, lo cual hace que se adapte a distintas medidas de inodoros, siempre y cuando estén dentro de las recomendadas por el fabricante. Las bisagras vienen con un tipo de freno incorporado, con lo cual logra que tanto la base como la tapa bajen muy despacio, evitando golpes y ruidos desagradables a la hora de bajar la tapa. Una vez instalado en el WC, solo tirando hacia arriba puedes quitar el conjunto base-tapa, ya que viene preparada para un montaje/desmontaje rápido sin necesidad de quitar los tornillos, es decir, la tapa encaja en los herrajes que se quedan en el inodoro con un solo clic, lo cual se logra haciendo un poco de fuerza al tirar, encajando o desmontando la tapa cuando lo necesitemos, logrando hacer una limpieza más fácil y efectiva de nuestro inodoro. Incluye un manual con español el cual nos ayudará a su montaje paso a paso y de forma fácil. Como puntos menos positivo indicar dos detalles: No sirve para todos los inodoros, hay que tener en cuanta las medidas que nos indica el fabricante, ya que puede ser que se quede pequeña o muy grande y no se adapte bien al hueco de nuestro inodoro. Cuando lo he montado, he comprobado que la bisagra choca un poco con el herraje que va en el WC, lo cual provocaba que el asiento no llegase a quedarse totalmente pegado al inodoro. Lo he solucionado poniendo una junta de relleno en dicho herraje. En conclusión, es una tapa de muy buena calidad, con una imagen excelente en color, brillo y forma, que dan a cualquier inodoro un estilo especial y característico.
