KastKing Bait Vault Camouflage Tackle Box (3600), Plastic Tackle Trays In short, these boxes meet my current needs for form, fit, function and cost. They appear well made, and constructed of plastic that appears to be stronger, and I expect more durable, then that of other storage boxes I have used. Measuring about 7¼” x 10¾” (a larger size (3700) is available) these will work well for me, and I believe would work well for most. Overall, I would recommend these to anyone needing an inexpensive yet functional storage tray for fishing gear or any other small items. I rate a "5" as "4.5" is not an option - these are not perfect, but way ahead of many others. Purchased from Amazon, this two pack of KastKing plastic Tackle Trays arrived fairly quickly with standard delivery. As can be seen in the pictures, it was shipped using a “brown bag” shipping package, which is quite adequate for this item. These plastic tackle box trays are exactly what was expected. They are obviously multi-purpose and can be used for storage of any small objects. They are constructed of a somewhat flexible (not brittle) plastic, and in my limited handling they appear to be well made. Latches were opened and closed numerous times with no apparent wear or loosening. Unlike other boxes I have used, the hinges and the latches are “clip-on” style, so no risk of fatigue and flex failure after multiple uses as with some. They are for stand-alone storage or for use in “tackle bags or boat storage systems”. Although most bags or storage systems will easily accommodate differing sizes, I found that these are approximately ¼” deeper and wider then advertised. If using multiple “stacked” boxes, or a “fixed” depth storage you need to assure they will fit properly. The five (5) fixed compartments in the box can be divided into a total of up to nineteen (19) using the included removable dividers - which are made of essentially the same weight (thickness) and type of plastic as the fixed dividers. The removable dividers come in strips of five, and need to be separated before use. I was surprised to find that although “scored”, I needed to use a knife to separate them, and to clean the edge before use. They join to the fixed dividers with a full length “dovetail” so when installed they don’t move or flex and are as sturdy as the fixed dividers. The compartment bottoms are curved like cash drawer coin compartments so items can be easily removed. The removable dividers match this curve and fit snugly to the bottom, so items stay in their compartments. When closed the lid fits ALMOST against the dividers. I put fine sand in one compartment, closed and latched the lid, turned the tray upside down and shook briefly. The sand migrated to all compartments, and some even escaped the box entirely. NOT unexpected - this is very common in this style box. Did the same test using small hooks and swivels and found that none migrated from their compartments, although some did get caught in the gap between the lid and the top of the divider. This tray performed extremely well compared to others I have used. I would not hesitate to store/carry in a vertical position. This is NOT a waterproof box, but I submerged it to see how much and how fast it would leak. It floated very well empty (and I doubt would do much different in use) so if it were inadvertently dropped into your favorite fishing spot it could probably be rescued with minimal if any, water intrusion. When submerged for several minutes, both right side up and upside down, there was much less infiltration then expected – it did not “fill up”. A bonus: when removed from the water, the accumulated water drained out without opening the lid - any content, although it might get wet – would remain in its compartment and could be dealt with later. Overall, a good buy for its intended use.

I really liked the color and design of these tackle boxes. The storage compartments are well-organized, and the latches feel secure, keeping bait and gear safely inside. I tested them by dropping one in a lake, and it floated without letting any water in. I’ve also used them in the rain multiple times this past summer, and everything inside stayed dry. The overall build quality is solid and reliable. Pros: Secure latches Well-organized storage compartments Floats and keeps contents dry Durable, high-quality construction Cons: None observed Overall, these tackle boxes are durable, functional, and effective at keeping gear organized and protected.
