Danger Signal (1945)

This a is a good movie. Seen it years ago and bought the dvd as soon as I saw it was available. Zachary Scott was a scoundrel! I loved it.

An oddity. Good only for Zachary Scott's performance

A "B" Noir starring Austin TX' own Zachary Scott (where the downtown theater The Zach is named after him) and Faye Emerson.Zachary Scott was typecast because of roles like this one - and also like his role in "Mildred Pierce". He had a good career nonetheless, although he died early - at his mother's house in Austin.Faye Emerson made the mistake of marrying Elliott Roosevelt after the film was done but before it was released, which meant that the ending of the film where she killed Scott had to be changed (you can't have a murderess living in the White House) and the new ending was very poor... with a unfortunate misstep.Elliott Roosevelt was the bad seed of President Roosevelt's family. He was later indicted as a war profiteer and was also caught with a made-up a story about being an ace fighter pilot when his eyesight was actually terrible. He later wrote a tell-all book about his parent's intimate lives including details of their sex lives. Faye divorced him right as the Government caught up to him in his lies, and had already gone on to become a very well recognized talk show host. She later left the country to live in seclusion.
