I bought this to back up my data in separate locations. I use one microSD card for my family photos, one for my personal identification documents and the other for work files which I needed to protect for privacy reasons. By purchasing the datAshur SD I only need to buy additional microSD Cards for more storage rather than keep spending money on new flash drives.

The “encrypted SD card” is a scam in disguise — the SD card itself is just a normal card. All the encryption happens in the Datashur USB stick. Nice idea in theory, but in practice it’s a nightmare. Once paired, the SD card is locked to that one stick only. Want to clone another stick? Brace yourself: you must register it online (Windows only), unlock it online, and let the company sit in the middle of your “secure” process. That means handing over your PIN and trust — exactly what a secure device should never force you to do. I spent two days and realized how insane the system is. Why would anyone in their right mind send their unlock keys through Windows to a third party? With a Raspberry Pi, I can encrypt any SD card myself without lock-in, without spyware-style “online unlocks,” and without losing control of my own data. I returned it. and now - still waiting for my money will update how long it took

You need to use special SD cards for this that they only sell for a jacked up price. I really like my regular datasure, unfortunately they couldn't make this to be able to use Universal cards instead of trying to gouge money out of people for their special hard to find cards. Returned
