Go! Go! Go! Stop!

great book..

My 4 year old loves this book! He is big into construction, and loves to be read to. We enjoy this book because he can help me read it. He can recognize stop and go, and can tell from the different sizes and techniques used when a quiet “go” fits the story, and when to shout it. As a homeschooling family, this fits the bill as a “living book” for us. There are always new details to notice in the illustrations, and each reading is fun for the whole family, and we’ve read it a lot!This book can help teach alliteration, verbs, use of speech bubbles to show dialogue, how color can be used to help portray your message, teamwork, not giving up/trying new ideas/perseverance, etc. It has just been a lovely book to own.

My 2.5 year old son asks to read this book almost every day. He uses the saying "Go, go, go, Stop!" all the time. He understands streetlights and tell us that the light is red, so we have to stop. Or that its green, so we can go now. Its also been helpful to remind him when he needs to slow down. If he is getting too hyped up, we remind him that he's got a lot of GO right now, he needs to add a bit of STOP so he can keep playing safely.

Our son was recommended this book from our SLP to practice basic sounds and reputation. We love this book and it is a go to for us.
