In this modern retelling of H.G. Wells' sci-fi classic, civilization is laid to ruin when a race of super aliens invades Earth. I wanted to use this in class and it flashes boobs in the opening scene. Ridiculous. Why can't we have movies based on books that actually follow the books??

This is an awful movie
I'm a fan of C. Thomas Howell, but this movie is just plain awful. There are much better versions available. The scenery is fake, the acting is wooden and the dialog is poorly written. Boring.

A must for a War of the worlds fan.
Great actors, good solid screen play based on a great novel, OK visible effects without over using them. C. Thomas Howell, Peter Greene, Jake Busey and Andy Lauer are good actors who WANT these parts. Tinarie Van Wyk-Loots looks good topless and Rhett Giles makes a good priest. The decision to allow us to meet the priest while he still has his faith is a good one and I feel the movie does a good job of following the novel while also giving a nod to the first 50s War of the Worlds. A must. Buy it!

I'm not happy!!
I first saw this a couple of years ago, but under the film title 'Invasion', and at that time thought it was a VERY bad war of the worlds wannabe. I was very annoyed, having bought the DVD, to find that this is the same film. The special effects are anything but special(some of the worst I have ever seen), and the acting is quite wooden. What a waste of time and money!!!!!
