Wooden Flute Carved Wood Fife

Not good for sound, but great for a prop.

The first of these, um, things was cracked from end to end. It is made of flimsy wood, possibly bamboo, but it is unclear what sort of wood this is. The second one arrived undamaged but it made no sound at all. Not even a whistle. I tried to play it vertically and horizontally. No sound. This thing is worthless except as a decoration.

Great for decoration.

I thought this would be a fun item for a joke. But it was broken when I received it. The "wood" is, literally, paper thin. I have scrapbooking paper that's sturdier. It was wrapped in paper and shipped in a paper envelope! No protection whatsoever for the poor thing. It was cracked in 3 pieces when I opened the so-called wrapping around the flute.

I bought this as a prop for a costume, not as a functioning instrument. It did the job perfectly for me as I was able to sand down the wood to get a good base for paint. However before doing so, I tried to play and it’s not the highest quality. This is great if you don’t actually intent to play it.

My son absolutely loves it. It is well made & very nice looking.
