Rit DyeMore is a synthetic dye that will color 100% polyester, acrylic, acetate, nylon and polyester/cotton blends. The Stove Top method—dyeing the items in a pot on the stove—is recommended especially when dyeing polyester and acrylic, because a very high temperature is needed to dye these fabrics. Nylon tends to dye very quickly and much darker than the other fibers so the actual time needed in the dye bath is much less.

Would buy again
Got really good results on an acrylic gilet. Make sure pot is big enough to avoid any mess when turning item in the pot.

It worked on polyester
The dress was a very bright peach colour. I wanted it a bit less bright! Chose navy blue and know because material wasn’t white it wouldn’t come out blue. It dyed to a lovely burgundy colour..very pleased. Used the stove top method.

Didn’t work for me
I followed the instructions but this did not work for me dying my clothes.

Intended for 'hand' wash
Not until I received this did I realise it wasn't intended for washing machine but a bath full of constantly boiling water. I actually washed in my machine at 90 degrees and seem to have got away with it!

Easy to use
Good dye that changes synthetic fabrics as well as cottons etc.Stove method is the best way to achieve proper colouring but is a bit of a pain.

This dye doesnt work on 100% polyester, even though it promises to.Followed all instructions and there was no colour change. Waste of £10 ;(
