Identical replacement for box 11 years old.
Original 11 year old box cover broke off. Tabs on the bottom broke so there was no way to reattach it to the base still on the house. Identical replacement was perfect.

Good for what I used it for
I used this as a weather tight enclosure for an Intermatic TP101 timer. I didn't want to pay 60 bucks for a Intermatic box which is ridiculous, so I was able to safely adapt this cable tv enclosure for a new purpose.I used a water-tight, ready made pig tail to connect to the existing outdoor power enclosure. Used the knockout entrance at the back of the box and added a piece of weather strip with silicone adhesive to seal it up. After 3 weeks of solid rain due to tropical storm Cindy, I can without doubt this thing is water tight. It would have been nice had a lid gasket been included along with a lid lock of some description. I understand that different cable companies use different lock mechanisms but a threaded insert would have been nice. Anyways, I overcame all of the limitations I was fully aware of when I bought the thing. With an extra $5.00 I modded the box to fit my needs. The door hinge is kinda weak but the entrance gasket arrangement at the bottom of the box intended for coax or low-volt wire is among the best I've seen and I've been in the Telcomm/Electrical industry for over 35 years.

This looks much better on the side of the house than a mess of exposed wires
This box does the job well. It has plenty of space inside and plenty of mounting points. I have one on the side of the house for the TV hookups. The builder just had the wire hanging from a hole in the wall. I have multiple wires and a ground connector to deal with. I didn't want all the gear hanging in the wind. This box nicely fits everything tucked away behind a plastic door so know one sees a mess and the gear stays dry.The only downside to the product is the door will not stay closed without a lock on top. The package does not come with any lock bolt or anything to keep the door closed. The hinges are at the bottom. There is no clip to hold the door in place so gravity just pulls it down to the ground. I secured mine with a screw I had laying around in the shop.

Box does not close sufficiently to keep out the elements.
Sorry to break the streak of great reviews, however this box simply does not close sufficiently enough to keep the elements at bay. I bought this a replacement for the cable box on a house I purchased last fall as the older box was heavily oxidized and breaking down due to long-term exposure. The previous box was also not closing properly and was providing bugs and lizards a comfy roost. However, I figured the improper closing was due to warpage from long-term exposure to the sun.To my surprise I realized post-installation that the replacement box does not completely close on the right side Look at the posted pic and you will see a gap large enough to let in water and other undesirables. If you are looking for a cable box that closes all the way then I do not recommend this product.### update 2015-06-20 ###Here is what I bought as replacement that works really wellhttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FU9KGSM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00made by the same company, only it closes properly. The only bad thing to say about the replacement is that the barrier gate for feeding the cables is foam- not rubber like the previous box. Hence, it is more susceptible to letting bugs crawl into the box. My fix: After I ran all external cables into the box I sealed the intakes with a standard silicone caulk. Easy fix. Very happy with the product, highly recommend.

Lots of space, frail hinges.
There are not a lot of alternatives I could find for this size of box. It did fit the need well but one of the hinges almost immediately broke in use. Opening and closing the lid is a careful process or else. Also, my box did not come with the seals for the openings at bottom. Since I didn't want to remount a whole other box I ended up buying another to replace the lid and finally got the seals after I'd already did the cabling... I expect to use it (carefully) with success otherwise.

This item fit the bill perfectly. i was concerned about it at first as some of the reviews stated that it leaked. It didn't leak and I had plenty of room for the three house cables I had to splice. My only complaint is why they couldn't supply the bolt at the top to hold it closed. Oh well, I just used a tie wrap to closed it. If you need a closure to protect your cable splices this will do it for you!

My Box, Not The Cable Guy's
I use a cable company for internet and have over the air for TV. My cable box was being used to connect an antenna in the attic to all my cable lines. When the cable guy came to fix my internet he got confused and cut all the connectors off the lines and took my splitter. So... Not very happy I purchased my own box to keep the cable guy out. This worked well for a 5 way power amplified splitter and all the cabling.
