This backrest is a few inches thick at its thickest and is more on the harder side but the design is perfect to protect your spine from arching and you struggling with constant back-pain especially if you drive a car everyday or if you have to sit for longer hours.I bought it to use in the car and it has been serving its purpose for nearly a year now and without complaints except that you have to move the seat further back than normal to compensate for the extra space it takes on the seat's backrest.If you plan to go on long journeys or if you have to traverse through traffic jams, this is a boon as you won't feel the back-pain much. Quality is good and it will last years on regular usage.
