Very good quality
LOVE IT!I use them in every painting.Amazing color variety, it's soft but not as much as other brands like Paul Rubens and Sennelier (for comparison) - they are harder and less creamy than the other two. To me, it's also a lot more fun and comfortable to combine them together at the same painting.*If it matters to people - the wooden box came a little broken at the corners, but it's not that noticable and it's easy to use and store. All pastels came came intact, no one broken.

Incredible value for money!
As a beginner and brand new to oil pastels, I bought the Mungyo Gallery 72 colors to experiment with, based on Amazon reviews and price point; what a great choice it was! Collaborated with a friend and we now have a few Senneliers, Caran d'Ache (24) and Sakura CrayPas, but both of us reach for the Mungyo almost exclusively. They are soft, creamy, layer well, full of rich color and they don't wear down fast like Sennelier. Like other reviewers, I use (my friend's) Senneliers only for highlights or to layer over other colors when I have layered on too much that it makes mud (part of the learning process) - the Sennelier white comes to the rescue. I find that working with oil pastels, is messy but very fun. The oil pastels get all over your hands (and face) and smudge everywhere if you're not careful. Luckily it washes off easily. If you make a mistake, you can cover it up with white or layer on another color. I experimented and used the Mungyo over watercolor paint (apple and sea lions pictures). I used Prisma Color pencils with the Mungyo for the cat picture. I use cheap watercolor paper (Canson) with the exception of the apples which was colored watercolor paper from Hong Kong. The bottom line is the Mungyo oil pastels are fun to experiment with, have a great variety of colors, are easy to work with and affordable enough to just play with or do real art. No need to buy anything else if you are an amateur like me. Except maybe Sennelier's white and maybe a few others. YouTube is a wonderful resource to learn how to effectively layer. So glad I bought the Mungyo Gallery Oil Pastels. Hits all the right buttons!

A joy to work with
I love these pastels. They are way better than the non-Gallery version of Mungyo. They don't produce crumbs and are soft and an absolute pleasure to work with (not as soft as Sennelier, but I like the somewhat firmer consistency). They blend easily, layer well, the colours are beautifully rich and the variety is wonderful and useful. The wooden case is lovely and sturdy, great for travel, much better than a flimsy flat cardboard box. You can use Senneliers over them with no problem. The only two slight negatives are that you can't buy the colours individually if you run out (although you can replace it with an individual colour of another open-stock brand), and that they don't come with lightfastness ratings. But what you get for the price is an absolute steal and they will give you very many hours of enjoyment.

New to oil pastels
The softness of the mungo oil pastels caught me by surprise. The color choices and characteristics are very nice. I'm on a new learning curve at the moment.

Nice
I hadn’t worked with oil pastels and needed them for a mixed media project. I really liked working with this set. Highly pigmented and blended well. They were reasonably priced and came in a very nice wooden box. Very happy with this purchase.
