led doesn't help much, otherwise solid.
From warehouse deals new unopened package showing not a hint of damage. The iron is the newest in a long string of purchases. I can't seem to find a decent iron that's reasonably priced. I would get 6 months Max out of the cheap HF or WM irons at 4 bucks I don't know, but the number of times I've been stuck by a cold iron right in the middle of something keeps me looking for better. This iron heated quickly and tackled some led conversions I had to do. The tip is flat on both sides and a little bigger than I like but it works. The led feature, 3 of them, I thought would be great but so far hasn't impressed. Perhaps when I'm deep inside a dashboard. The leds flickered a few times so I expect them to quit, but do far so good. For an inexpensive iron I would recommend so far, a longer cord and switch with power indicator would. be wicked.

Great for low heat applications
I already had a variety of irons, but was about to perform a critical repair on the switch for the heater control in my Highlander. A previous attempt with my 45 watt iron proved pretty scary, as the heat was obviously too much once I got close, there were 2 other wires very nearby. Since the module I was repairing costs $900-$1200 at the dealers to replace, it was worth the chance to try this low output iron. Boy, and I glad I did!The job went quickly and painlessly, and the wattage was perfect for working on the wires that were so close to one another. Spending less than fourteen bucks to save a thousand makes for a wonderful day!

SN15 does not have any interchangeable tips!
SN15 review. I'm sure this is a great soldering iron. Weller is a trusted brand BUT be aware that the 15 watt version only has a chisel style tip and not the conical one shown. Description claims that their are plenty of available tips, but Ive come to find out that this is not correct for the SN15.I purposely bought the 15 watt for some small SMC work thinking I would have a conical tip but the chisel is just too big and I cannot find any replacements for this type.I'm left having to find another soldering iron to use for this project.

one off my favorite items!!!
To put holes in the sides of my planters so the extra water can be removed. Then I have nothing over watered.

Works well
I had a bunch of LEDs to solder to wire and this iron did a great job. I realized that higher power irons are overkill for some jobs.

Not worth it.
The tip wore out on first use. It has a flat tip and touching it against the leads of the components I was working with created a big groove in the tip so that it looked like a fork. The iron doesn't use a standard-size tip so replacements are hard to find and cost as much as the iron did. If you need a low-temp iron for under $20, go with one of the many off brand temperature controlled irons on here. I have one and it's okay for light use, and it came with extra tips. If you're planning to use it regularly, get the Weller WLC100 work station. It's more money but it'll be easier to replace tips so it'll save you in the long run.
