I will not recommend on face because i have to wash my sons hands very thoroughly after he does hand painting.Dark colors are more difficult to wash.

Wonderful product, and you may want to put a small amount in a container and add water to make it last longer. It is fab to let the child enjoy using the colours without worrying about stains.
