A wonderful upgrade to what I had! Expensive, so do a little due diligence and you'll love it!
I have now had this vest for over 2 months. I didn't know if I would use a weight vest consistently, so prior to this one I decided to try the Tone fitness one at 8lbs. That one goes over the head and sits at the waist, and I liked it a lot (some may not like the weight on the clavicle area though). Since that one is static weight, I decided to try this one once I decided I enjoyed using a weight vest. I liked that it used metal weights and was adjustable. I previously bought the Pro version via "used" on Amazon but when I got it it already had some tiny holes in it. I decided to fork out the money for the pro version and it feels MUCH more durable. I didn't get the other one they have designed for women because the weights are in 2.5 increments and are sand, as well as not as distributed over the torso/back - but that one did look nice at half the price. At the time of purchase, I was 156 lbs, 5'4", size 10/12 (woman) with a short torso. I got a medium and it fit with about 2-3 inches of cord. Its very compressive, which is great because I have shoulder pain and I noticed the weight didn't sit at my shoulders at all but very evenly distributed. No issue with the clip on the cord moving as older reviews state; the clip has been changed and is not the same as the picture. It doesn't budge. The logo is also white, not orange. 10 lbs is a nice weight for walking - it actually comes in closer to 11 lbs. I am not washing the vest, as taking and reinserting the weights would be tedious. I like that this is likely the last vest I will ever buy - as I get older, I can take weight out as needed. The packaging is pretty cheap - just a plain cardboard box, but I guess they save money on packaging. No hot spots on the best, but your mileage will vary depending on your body shape (and how it changes). I thought the corners in the armpit area would be annoying, but it's been fine. I wear it with a workout tank underneath for my walks. All in all, for durability, flexibility of weights, weight distribution, and value for those things,I think this is the best weight vest out there. I looked at others that seemed much cuter, but they were only a static 5lbs (and pricier!) and that wasn't going to cut it for me.

EXPENSIVE BUT WORTH IT IN THE LONG RUN
Overall Impression: This weight vest has a very unique design in that it is very form fitting and can be pretty snug. As a result, by design it moves very little if at all during walking and a little bit when running. Even though it is tight across the chest, it doesn’t restrict breathing because of the expandable side cords. I have owned several weight vests and this is by far the best and most comfortable available that I have tried. Specifically, it doesn’t weigh your shoulders down and make you fight against it causing shoulder/neck fatigue which means you can wear it for longer periods of time. Yes, it is very expensive, but after trying several vests for comfort you end up spending the same amount for less-than-optimal multipl other products. The total weight limit is 20 pounds and that may be significantly less than some other vests, but you can walk up and down hills and that 20 pounds is no longer easy. This is clearly the best vest I own and wish I had just bought it up front without trying other vests. Pros: -form fitting and doesn’t move much during exercise -expands as you breathe -variable weight capacity up to 20 pounds -slim design and can wear a slightly larger shirt or seat shirt over it -can alter its fit if you gain or lose weight a little bit Cons: -expensive -a bit fiddly adding extra weight especially when doubling up for each pocket -weight pockets are a bit small with two weights per pocket -after putting in 10 pounds or more, the seams around the head/shoulder openings will dig into you -be prepared for skin impressions from the cords and weights that will dissipate over a short time because of the tight fit (I added seat belt lambs wool around the shoulders: it helps -the weight is distributed evenly over your chest and back and as a result ends up being very comfortable and doesn’t tend to “swing” around your neck/shoulders (not top heavy) Company Recommendations (I doubt they will read this but anyway) -expand the weight pockets just a few millimeters for easier access without causing excess slop -add a double roll with foam around the edges for shoulder/armpit areas (not too thick just a bit) -consider adding lead weights as an option to gain a few more pounds

I don’t like to go walking WITHOUT it.
Love it. I am 5.5, 140lb bought a size medium. I started walking with it at 7lb and gradually added weight. I love that it clings to my body and the weight is not just on my shoulders. I like that it is adjustable in fit as well as adjustable in weight. I won’t have to buy a whole new vest when I want a heavier one. Because of that, it is worth the price. It seems very well made. I have had mine for about 4 months with no wear issues. In backpacking we always emphasis not carrying all the weight on your shoulders. The weighted vest that just have weight on the shoulders look miserable to me. That is why I went with this option. Highly recommend this vest.

Great weighted best, but would be nice to have more informational videos
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I just got this and I’ve only done a couple short walks. Supposedly it comes with a tool to help insert the weights, but no tool was included. The video show it coming out of a very nice box, mine was fulfilled by Amazon and just in a plastic bag stuffed in a box. All the weights were already in the best. Still looking for that tool, as they are difficult to get in and out. Also haven’t been able to find a video that shows how you start micro loading the weights. I have had people tell me start with just the back in order to maintain your posture and then eventually move to the front. I’ve also seen people say that you should load it around the back and the front. It doesn’t seem like hyper vest has a series of Videos that show you first how should the best fit? I got both small and medium and I’m not quite sure but I’m going to settle on the small. Would’ve been nice to have more information as to how wide the gap should be on the side. Where should it sit on your waist above your hip bones or over them? It just doesn’t seem to be that much information about this. Also, I’ve been thinking for more information on how weighted vest help with women over 60 and osteopenia, or osteoporosis. It’s interesting that there’s no study. I’ve been able to find that test the difference between walking without one and walking with one. It just starts with walking with one and the number of weights that you have. It also doesn’t show somebody who is never walking, sedentary, and then starts walking with this fast. Would be great if the maker had some studies that could point to the efficacy of wearing this. Outside of that, it’s very well-made, the fabric is heavy duty, and I have some outdoor research jackets made of the same material that have lasted forever. I am a little concerned about washing it because I have seen some reviews that talk about the smell. It says to spray it with Febreze, I think maybe wiping it down with warm water, letting it air dry might be a better option for me as I don’t like spraying chemicals on my clothing. Overall, I looked at a number of weighted vest and settled on this one. It is a bit more expensive, but I think overall it’s better for your shoulders and your back. I’ve had two shoulder surgeries and some of the others just wouldn’t work around my neck and shoulders. I think overall this is the best option For long-term use. My goal is to get up to where I can wear it on my 10 mile hikes.

Perfect Vest for Vigorous Exercise
The best weight vest I have ever own. It adjusts well to your body, tight but comfortable for vigorous exercise like shadow boxing or wearing during heavy bag workouts.

A+ comfort and versatility
First time user review here. No pulling or digging into shoulders. Weight is perfectly distributed throughout your torso front and back. For me, the side laces are superb. I can get it as tight as i need. Walked 4 miles for its first wear and it remained comfortable throughout. I bought the Medium 20lb. Came loaded 10—and 2 boxes of 2.25 oz weight bars to incrementally add weight. I’m happy that this vest will work long-term ie. I won’t require multiple vests of varying static-weight as i progress; i can adjust the fit pretty drastically with the cords depending on if i wear it close to the body, or over thicker clothes. I tried another brands $50 15# harness-type vest and hated it. Couldn’t tighten it enough across the chest with the size adjustments clips it had so the weight was carried only on the shoulders. I ended up being mad the whole time i wore it. The design overall of this Hyperwear vest is far superior to the stuffed harness-type. If you’re committed to the health benefits of weight bearing exercise & movement i would invest in this one. The comfort alone will make you stick to it,,,and that’s the whole point.

Best Vest out of Many I tried for Comfort - Well Made
This is the best vest I have ever used out of many. I like that it is low profile, and feels natural on my body. The even weight distribution takes off alot of the discomfort and pressure points I find as a problem in most other vests that discourages me from exercising with it.. This vest also has virtually no smell, and is made out of non-toxic nylon. No off-gassing. The weights are made of steel, and have no odor too. Zero toxic smell, which is what I love, but have a hard time finding in any other weighted vest. If it's not the discomfort of weights bouncing around or pushing in all the sensitive body parts, some other vests tend to have flaws such as: being filled with metal sand, so to prevent rust, the company soaked it some toxic anti-rust oil, which gives it a strong smell, that stays for a very long time. That is why I choose this vest, because it's not bad for my health. While this does feel much more comfortable than any other vest due to even weight distribution, I feel that they should include some thicker padding for the areas near the top of the shoulder, near the neck area that hold most of the pressure. If you wear it a long time, you can feel the pressure add up in your Trapezius muscle. So what I did to work around that is buy this shoulder pad for $10, and used it with it. That fixed the problem. TEHOKARM 2 Pack Tactical Shoulder Strap Pad Vest Shoulder Strap Pads Also, I am male 5,9, 170lbs, and normally can wear a medium T-shirt, but the Medium is way too tiny for me, since I have a strong back and wide shoulders. The Large did fit better, but I still feel that it should be a bit wider, so hopefully the Xtra-Large will fix the problem. They size these pretty tight, so go up a normal size if you are a male, especially since they labeled these as Uni-Sex. I think if they include thicker back-pack padded straps around the shoulder area, this would be the most awesome vest ever. For now, I have to do a generic hack by buying the: TEHOKARM 2 Pack Tactical Shoulder Strap Pad Vest Shoulder Strap Pads, and inserting them. Would prefer built in thick pads. Overall, I don't think a better vest exists for comfort, even if it's just a tiny bit uncomfortable near the traps area, and if they added more padding to the shoulder strap area, they would be miles ahead of the competition. For someone wearing it all day long, that is a must.

Highly recommend this vest. Spend the extra money and get this right.
I highly recommend this vest if you are looking for a weighted vest to workout in, run or walk. The vest fits snuggly, with easy adjusters on the sides. The weight of the vest is distributed around the body very well. I primarily walk in the vest but have done some easy running and body weight workouts. The vest stays snug on the body which is what you want. The weight can be adjusted up to 20 lbs. This does require putting two of the small weights in each of the pockets (this is a tight fit). The sides help with cooling but it can get warm wearing it on a warm summer day. It is expensive but I recommend it. How much is your health worth?
