Yes. You need to block the vent to avoid the pressure and water/muck coming out through the vent.

Yes, it comes with 1 battery. I ordered a couple of 2nd party additional batteries from Amazon, just in case.

Look for the balloon type. Granted this can get the job done,but it just a burst. Use the one that hooks up yo a garden hose that like a balloon. It'll be better
