Works exactly as it should but could use better instructions and measuring cup
This works as well as I could have expected. I mostly use this for hard boiled eggs. A dozen at a time for use in egg salad and both times they came out perfect. There are a couple things that could be improved and the are not about the egg cooker itself. First off are the instructions. My unit did come with the updated instructions but this is where the first improvement could be made. The updated instructions to hard boil eggs state to use 140ml of water for 1 dozen hard boiled eggs. The problem here is that the measuring cup included does not show any ml numbers. The first time I just filled the included measuring cup and the eggs cooked fine, but they were next to impossible to peel as the white part of the egg was coming off with the shell. I ended up just tossing the eggs to the squirrels outside. On my second try I used a measuring cup that was provide with another appliance I had that did have the ml measurement and with 140ml of water the eggs came out perfectly hard boiled and easy to peel. This is when I discovered that the measuring cup included with this only holds about 80 ml of water when filled to the very top...please start including a measuring cup that will actually allow you to measure out the 140ml of water that will be needed to cook a full 14 eggs that this will handle. Not everyone will have another measuring cup with ml measurements. The second thing is that the egg piercing took at the bottom of the cup is pointless. I tried multiple times to pierce the bottom (top part when putting on the tray top down). It simply does not work so I never pierced them and with the right amount of water it didn’t matter as they peels easily.Overall I would recommend this egg cooker, especially at the price I paid. Just be aware that the included measuring cup/piercer just don’t make it possible to follow the updated instructions as there are no ml measurements on it and a full cup of the include cup doesn’t even come close to the amount of water needed for 8-14 eggs but works perfectly if you are only using one of the racks (up to 7 eggs).

For best results, have experience with egg cookers
I liked the price of this item when I bought it, however when I recieved the item the instructions were kind of confusing. Unless you have previously had an egg cooker (which I didn't) it's very hard to figure out how to properly cook the eggs. I made the mistake of poking the hole and then facing the hole towards the bottom which ruined the eggs. The hole puncher isnt very good either. My second try cooking eggs resulted in them coming out a bit burnt. Maybe I didn't add enough water? I am sure that for someone who knows how to cook eggs in an egg cooker this works fine, but for a newbie like me it was very confusing.

No alarm and doesn't shut off, not safe.
My last egg cooker finally had the button pop off so I decided to upgrade to this larger sized one. This new one doesn't have any timer or alarm on it to tell you when the eggs are done. Also it does not shut off automatically as advertised. I made eggs one evening and forgot them in the egg cooker on the counter all night. The next morning all the eggs were super hot, brown and the thing was still cooking! Without a alarm it's easy to forget it is on and without the auto shut off it's very dangerous.

Works well for a few or several eggs
I used this the day I got it for 2 eggs. Just pour in the water, poke the fat end (the plastic bit on the bottom of the measuring cup works fine for me) and load them small end down. About 12 minutes later I pulled them out. I put the eggs in ice water to cool and they ended up very easy to peel and done through. I later used it for 12 eggs at once and put them in for about 12 minutes. They were a little less done, the yolks weren't perfectly opaque but not runny at all. There was no discoloration of the eggs or the yolks. This larger batch was also not quite as easy to peel as the first ones but still tasted good and weren't discolored. A slightly longer cooking time for more eggs may sort out these issues. If it has one I haven't seen the auto timer cut it off but it seems like it clicks off and on while it's cooking to maintain temperature, but probably not to approximate cook time. There also aren't any adjustment knobs which would likely be needed for a timer, just an off and on switch. I only use it while I'm at home so it isn't a problem for me but it seems the advert writers may have missed this one. If you want it to set and forget it you will probably need to buy an appliance timer.

Did not shut off automatically
I just used this for the first time. Auto shut off didn’t work. I filled with eggs at 9am, came back home at 1pm and unit was still on. Eggs were hot and way over cooked. I guess i bought a dud!!! :(Ok, so today is 3 days after I put my review up and just noticed that I was refunded for the egg cooker. Kudos to this company for doing the right thing without me having to comtact them!!!Thank you!!!

Would make a great gift!
This would have been a great Christmas gift. Affordable and super convenient. I got it for myself for my boiled eggs every morning. I also use it for steaming buns, gyoza (dumplings), shumai (more dumplings) and corns. I am steaming for 2 people so there's definitely enough room to steam most things for portion of 2. I am also going to try to steam my oatmeal in milk next time. Last time I used it, I thought the bottom metal plate burned, but I used water to rinse it and it went away. This is so much better than using pots/pans to steam anything. I recommend!

The cup to poke eggs is a joke
This could be a pretty good product. I like that you can cook up to 14 eggs at a time. However, the cup to poke the eggs has a plastic piece to poke the eggs. Really! What makes the creator of this item think that plain plastic will poke easily through eggs. I got the plastic piece to work but it broke the eggs rather than just poke a small hole in the eggs. All other egg steamers I have ever owned have always used metal to poke the eggs, which make sense so you get a clean poke of the egg rather breaking apart the egg. I had to use a parry knife to get a small hole in the eggs. The manufacturer needs to redo the cup.
